Stark Cabin
"Now we know what it sounds like..." Scott trails off after explaining his theory.
"Tony, after everything you've seen, is anything really impossible?" Steve asks him.
"Quantum fluctuation messes with the Planck Scale, which then triggers the Deutsch Proposition. Can we agreed on that?" He asks looking between the three of us but we all look at each other confused since we don't know alot about science.
He then hands us each a drink.
"Thank you." I nod taking a sip.
"In Layman's terms. It means you're not coming home." He adds as he sits down.
"I did." Scott comments.
"No, you accidentally survived. It's a billion to one cosmic fluke. And now you wanna pull off a... What do you call it?" Tony asks him.
"A time heist?" Scott says in a questionable tone.
"Yeah, a time heist. Of course, why didn't we think of this before? Oh, because it's laughable? Because it's a pipe dream?" Tony says.
"The stones are in the past. We can go back and get them." Scott says.
"We can snap our own fingers. We can bring everyone back." I add.
"Or screw it up worse than he already has, right?" Tony raises an eyebrow.
"I don't believe we would." Steve shrugs.
"Gotta say, sometimes I miss the giddy optimism. However, high hopes won't help if there's no logical, tangible way for me to safely execute said time heist. I would believe the most likely outcome would be our collective demise." He replies.
"Not if we strictly follow the rules of time travel. That means no talking to our past selves, no betting on sporting events." Scott speaks up.
"I'm gonna stop you right there, Scott. Are you seriously telling me that your plan to save the universe is based on Back to the Future?" Tony asks him.
"No." He mumbles in slight embarrassment.
"Good. You had me worried there. Cause that'd be horse shit. That's not how quantum physics works." Stark shakes his head.
"Uncle Tony *sighs* we have to take a stand." I tell him softly.
"We did stand. And yet, here we are." Tony motions around.
"I know you got a lot on the line. You got a wife, a daughter. But I lost someone very important to me. A lot of people did! And now, now we have a chance to bring her back. To bring everyone back. And you're telling me that you won't even-
"That's right Scott, I won't even. I got a kid." Tony cuts him off.
Morgan, Tony's daughter and my little cousin, runs to him and he picks her up.
"Mommy told me to come save you." She tells him.
"Good job. I'm saved. *he looks over to us* I wish you'd come here to ask me something else. Anything else. Honestly, I... I missed you guys, it was... Oh and the table's set for six-
"Tony, I get it. And I'm happy for you, really am. But this is a second chance." Steve tries.
"I got my second chance right here, Cap. I can't roll the dice again. If you don't talk shop, you can stay for lunch." He tells us before he looks at me.
"Can you stay Y/N/N pleaseeee." Morgan begs.
I sigh with a smile looking down.
"Yeah I'll stay." I nod making her cheer and run back inside.
