Life Together Chapter 2

Chapter 2

After spending the afternoon apart it is time for Val and Zendaya's date.

Zendaya is in her room at her parents house looking through her closet for something to wear. Z's mom is sitting on the bed helping.

Zendaya looks back at her mom holding up two dresses, "which one Mom?"

Claire ponders the question, " I would go with the classic black one." she says

Z nods in agreement that you can"t beat the classics. What is more classic than a black cocktail dress with nice simple jewelry,

Claire looks up when she hears the bathroom door open to see Zendaya walking out with her long hair curled in a half ponytail. Her make up is light. Jewelry consists of simple earrings, necklace, and her evil eye bracelets. Instead of wearing heels she has decided to wear black flats.

Claire smiles, "Honey, you look beautiful. Val will be speechless when he sees you."

"I hope your right mom. I wish he would tell me where he is taking me for dinner," Zendaya says with a sigh.

Claire tells Z that Val just wants to surprise her and to make it special.

After fussing with her dress she gets a text from Val telling her that he is on his way to pick her up.

"Val is on his way." Z says grabbing her purse and starts to head downstairs with Claire following behind.

The clock in the Coleman's living room turns to 7:00 pm and as if on cue the doorbell rings. Claire goes to answer the door. Zendaya rises from her seated position on the couch when she hears Val's voice enter her house.

Val is standing in the foyer of the Coleman's house in a stunning black suit with a blue shirt. He is not wearing a tie. He is always right on time.

"You look great Val, very handsome" Zendaya smiles as she says that.

Val smiles at the praise he received from Zendaya. "Babe, you look stunning. You really do. These are for you" he says handing her a bunch of her favorite flowers.

With a wide grin on her face she takes the flowers from him saying thank you. She smells the flowers and then gives them to her mom asking her to put them in water for her.

Zendaya's parents tell her and Val to be back by midnight. They both have busy days tomorrow.

Val and Zendaya walk out to his car that is parked in the driveway. Val walks Zendaya to the passenger side of his car and opens the door for Zendaya.

Zendaya smiles, "why thank you sir. "

Val bows his head and kisses her cheek. She gets into the car and makes sure that her dress is in the car. When she is set Val shuts the door and then goes to the driver side.

Upon getting into the car he buckles his seatbelt and starts the car. He begins driving to the nice restaurant. He and Zendaya take part in easy conversation about their days.

After about a half hour driving they arrive at charming looking restaurant. It appears that here they will have the opportunity to have the privacy that they have been looking for.

Val pulls into the parking lot and parks the car before running over to Zendaya's side and opens the door for her.

He extends his hand to her which she gladly takes it and gets out of the car. The car door is shut. Zendaya looks at Val before putting her arms around him. "Your quite the gentleman today. I must say I love it." she tells him.

"It's in my nature to be that way and I love you babe so much." Val says.

He leans in kisses her with passion. When they break apart they smile and rest their foreheads together.
Val breaks the silence saying that they should head into the restaurant.
So they head into the restaurant and stand at the hostess stand and tell her that they have a reservation.

The hostess finds their reservation and asks them to follow her to their table. Val and Zendaya are led to table by the window over looking a courtyard garden.

Val pulls out the chair for Zendaya and then goes to sit across from her. The hostess hands them their menus and that their waitress will be right with them.
