The dolphin was adorable but my instincts told me not to trust it. Its instincts probably said he same about me as it stayed closer to Alexander in its pool. Alexander opened up his mother's book.
" I can't find anything inside about a red dolphin. " he said,
" How did you even get that in here? " I asked,
" Just like you kept your jacket, I kept my book. "
To be honest, having the jacket made me feel warm because it gave me a feeling that my mother was still here with me, but it also made me feel like I was intruding. These clothes were for my mother when she was let out of the asylum, now they were on me in a place where if I died, it would never return to her.
" Do you think the dolphin knows anything about this 'unicorn'? " I asked.
"It's here somewhere, the book said it moved around. " he responded. I got up and walked around the pond's surroundings. I looked to see the lay of the land and maybe a good camping spot since people are gonna be murdered in here.I spotted some rather huge looking trees, that would provide some cover and safety, nearby.
" Hey, maybe we should climb some trees over there and camp out or do you wanna stay here and stare at a dolphin? " I asked as I turned to face him. He was playing with dolphin as if it were his pet dog.
" We should stay with the dolphin, something about it makes me feel safe. " He responded.
" Alright but we need food, I'm gonna scout out some backpacks I saw on the way here. " I walked off, picking up anything I thought would be useful: sticks for a fire, a piece of glass, some parchment and some cans of stew I saw leading in a trail into the bushes. This obviously was a trap so I picked up two cans and walked off.
After a while, I walked back to the pond and Alexander was flipping through his book with some flowers in hand. He smelled then and they puffed out a dank, purple smoke in his face. The sneeze that came after had me in fear of all the sick, twisted teenagers in this forest coming to hunt us down. Then something strange happened, the bush yelled, ' Bless you '.
I turned toward the bush that Alexander had most likely gotten the flower, and whipped out my gun. Aiming. Waiting. Two people came out of the bush, both around my age.
A girl with a milk chocolate complexion that shined beautifully, with a head full of curly hair that fell a little past her shoulder. What surprised me were her cold grey eyes, shooting daggers at everything she saw. She was thin but she looked deadly. The boy next to her was pale, with a mop of blond hair on top his head, he was in extreme need of a brush. He had Alexander's stocky strong build but he looked super afraid, probably because of the gun aimed at his head.
" Did you seriously say ' Bless you' ? " the girl asked,
" I have manners, Emma, " The boy responded
" Well your manners are gonna get us killed. " Emma replied sharply. She was going to kill him if I didn't, at least that's how it looked. Then, Alexander jumped in,
" Let's not kill each other guys. You don't want to die and neither do we. Alliance? Friends? Yay?"
I turned towards him in shock, he was optimistic like that and often made decisions without thinking them all the way through. He saw I was watching and said,
" Safety in numbers, " he shrugged. I put down my gun but I steeled my gut for any attack but they never came. Alexander took his gun from his belt and put it on the floor next to mine.
" If we're gonna do this allies thing, you're gonna have to put your gun in pile. " I said glaring at the both of them especially Emma, she glared at me as well but she took out her gun and threw it into the pile.
" Oliver lost his gun in a fight, " she gestured towards her companion. Alexander smiled and went back to sitting by the pond with a flower.
" Alright! Achievement unlocked! Ally power, yeah! "
