*AU where Aphmau owns a chain of maid cafes, the crew never meets and never become friends
In retrospect, perhaps Dante should've tried harder in life.
///
Dante's mornings were pretty uneventful.
They consisted of him waking up, turning on the coffee machine, grabbing a piece of bread, toasting it, slapping some jam on it, and then eating it while his coffee was cooking.
If he was feeling it, he turned on the TV. then watched whatever was on. Which were usually the news. All the while he ate/drank his breakfast.
Like Dante said, his morning's were pretty uneventful.
That was before, now his morning's are non-exist. Rarely, does he get out of his apartment to hang out with his friends. Dante's life has become a cycle of waking up, going to work, sleep, and repeat.
Which was why he's browsing the internet for jobs he could take.
Dante doesn't want anything flashy; just a simple, easy job. That doesn't require him to reduce his food to Top Ramen everyday. Also, a job that fits his wacky "schedule".
Dante seriously needs a vacation.
He had considered moving in with his best friend, Travis. But after realizing that Travis had a girlfriend that often stayed over. He passed.
He still had nightmares from the time he walked into his brother and brother's girlfriend going at it.
On his bed.
Like what the hell bro, it's one thing to do it on your own bed while people are over. It's a whole other thing to do it on someone else's bed.
Dante may also need a job that doesn't require any sort of professional degree.
A simple, well paying job for a college dropout.
'He seriously regrets not getting a mechanic or technician diploma. Lady Irene knows he had potential...'
It takes Dante the whole afternoon to finally find it.
The job is simple; you baby-sit sitting animatronics for six hours, 12 am to 6am.
It would be the night shift, so Dante would not have to deal with annoying customers. It was also not that far away, perhaps a 15 minute drive.
'Kawaii Chan's Maid Cafe'
Though Dante himself has never been there, he's heard only good report from the place.
It's also in one of the richer parts of the city.
Which meant Dante would not have to deal with homeless people begging for money, and he not being able to spare them any cash.
Speaking of money, the pay was good.
Well good for a minimum-wage job. $330 dollars per week, paychecks were delivered every Friday.
The money was a lot better than Dante's measly $200 a week that he got from working at the nearby McDonald's.
With that he makes up his mind and dials the number on the Ad.
It rings for a few second s before a peppy voice answers.
"Welcome to Kawaii-Chan's Maid Cafe, what can I help you with?"
The voice is oddly familiar, though Dante can't put his finger on it.
"Hello, my name is Dante, and I'm interested about the night shift you were advertising on your website," Dante answers, pulling out his professional voice.
The line goes oddly silent, and Dante think that the line must have cut off.
"Ah- I see, very well then the position is still open," she mutters this more to herself than to Dante, in a louder voice she replies," Very well then your evaluation will be tomorrow at 10 am, don't be late."
The line cuts off before Dante can reply.
