day one at a new school for someone just sucks in general. the unnecessary stares and remarks you get from people you've never spoken to before. the fitting in with the right crowd and making good impressions is always the hardest too. Ali has the same issue after 2 years.
she's the outcast, the reject. just because of the way she acts, dresses and well the way she doesn't speak, and it's not because she can't, it's because she simply doesn't want to.
she's spoken about as the 'mute drug addict', she found it amusing. she liked having this secret that no one knew about, talking to people is such an effort so she figured; if there's a way not too... use it. who'd want to talk to stuck up rich people anyway?
Ali attends a pretty upper class school. her parents figured that private school would be better, that she wouldn't get bullied for being mute - of course her parents knew all about her actually being able to talk, doesn't mean they could make her though - but truth is, she never would've been bullied anyway. with Ali being the supplier of people's drugs and sex, who would want to bully her? it's what every teenager wants, right?
now this of course automatically means she fits in doesn't it? well not exactly. these private school nerds don't let their hair down like she'd hoped, more like tea and caviar than vodka and cannabis. although there is one person, Lea. she is the only one Ali has found out of these delinquents that likes to party and get high as rainbows, but she's still a bit of a freak. Ali didn't care though, just as long as there was someone to be cell buddies with for one night if the police turned up.
even if she hadn't of took drugs, or 'fucked lots of guys' Ali still wouldn't of fit in. you try walk into a posh, stuck up rich kid school, with ripped jeans and Doc Martins, it doesn't turn out very well. but she didn't mind, Ali was never a people person anyway. especially these kinds of people, their the kind she'd never try fit in with either, dressing like a princess and having pampering sessions wasn't really her style. she'd rather sneak out the house, smoke weed, get drunk and be in her own little world.
her world in which if she talks, you know she's had too much.
