Today was the day I was dreading. The first day of high school. I wasn't a regular kid. Wouldn't be in regular 9th grade classes like my friends,no. I will be in 10th and 11th grade classes,with people older then me. I was smarter then my years and I was in the honors classes since 7 grade. I was never with my best friends,but made friends along the way. I had already compared my schedule with my friends from the honors classes,and none had any classes with me. So I'm going to be the loner,the dweeb that gets picked on. I headed to my first class a little late. Class started at 7:45 in the morning and it's 7:40 right now. I started rushing to the classrooms,I didn't want to be late. I walked right into someone as I was about to walk in the door. I fell flat on my ass and I hoped the person wasn't someone older who was going to kill me. The person extended their hand and I took it. "I'm so sorry,I wasn't paying attention," he said pulling me up off the ground. I knew he wasn't from around here with that accent and being so polite. I on the other hand lived her all my life. "No it's fine,I'm Y/n," I said shaking his hand. He smiled and said,"I'm Dan. Are you heading in their?" He asked pointing towards the door. I nodded and he said me too. We both headed inside and everyone got quiet. The teacher looked up from the desk she was at. RING,RING; the bell rang. The teacher cleared her throat and said, " You must be Miss. Y/l and Mr. Howell. Are you the 9th graders in this class?" Dan and I both nodded. I never expected Dan to be in 9th grade. He was very tall. I'm pretty tall for a girl to and he was taller then me. " Well then please take a seat," the teacher said more sternly. I started walking towards the back,when I felt myself falling forward but was pulled into someone behind me. I heard snickering and saw and guy who looked like he was a bully. I looked to see Dan had caught me and had his arms still around my waist. I pulled them off my waist and thanked his for saving me. He pushed past me to the back and took a seat with a pink dusting on his checks. I wasn't going to have these kids think they can pick on me and get away with it. The teacher was writing something on the board so I took this as my opportunity. The boy who tripped me was still giggling. I grabbed the collar of his shirt and said with anger in my eyes, "Do it again dweeb see what happens! I'll fucking crush you, and don't think I won't because I'm a girl or because I'm younger. Watch your back K! Got it!" He shook his head vigorous. "Good!" I let go of his shirt and readjusted my bag on my shoulder and took the seat in the back next to Dan. The teacher seemed to be deaf because she was still writing on the board. Dan was scribbling something on a paper, when he was done he crumpled it into a ball and throw it on my desk. I looked up to see what the teacher was doing. She was just taking roll call. I opened the note and it read, 'Nice work. I don't think he'll be bothering you for awhile. What do you have next. <3 Dan ;)' I heard the teacher call my name so I responded with a here. She continued on. I pass Dan my schedule. He took his own out and wrote a small note on mine. He handed it back to me and smiled. I looked at the note and read it. 'Cool we have all the same classes :)'
I smiled and looked at Dan. This was a start of a beautiful relationship.
