Y/c= The college you want to go to.

Tyler and I have been dating since we were 13. We were best friends since we were five. We are both 18 now,and just finishing high school. I wanted to go to college and Tyler wanted to continue Youtube. I knew we were going to have to break up. Long distance relationships are to hard and rarely ever worked out.

I was awoken from my sleep from my mom yelling at me to get up. It's been a month since I graduated and a month since I sent out my applications for college. I walked down the stairs to see my mom reading a letter with y/c on the envelope she was holding. She looked up. "Mom," I questioned, "What does it say?" She took a deep breath and she said " Y/n, you got in!" I immediately started jumping up and down and started hugging my mom. I couldn't believe I got in. I've wanted to go to this college for EVER!

When I was done with my little "celebration" I went back up to my room to text Tyler. I wanted to tell him face to face. I texted him " Hey can you come over? <3 XO" I can't believe I was going to have to break up with the love of my life and best friend. I got a text back saying, " Ummm, I have a different idea. I was thinking we could go to lake. Is that okay?" I texted back, " Sure, I'll meet you there." I got off my bed and walked downstairs. I slipped on my converse and told my mom I was leaving. I started walking to the lake. I saw Tyler, sitting on the log we always sit on, staring out onto the lake. I walked up to him and sat next to him. I smiled at him and he smiled back.
T=Tyler Y=You
T: How are you, beautiful?
Y: Good, I guess. What about you?
T: Good
Y: Tyler, I got into y/c.
T: That's amazing Y/n
Tyler pull me into a hug and I returned it. When we pulled away Tyler pulled me into a kiss full of passion and I returned it. When Tyler pulled away he got down on one knee and pulled out a box. 'No he can't be doing this. I can't be married. I'm want to go to college,go clubbing, and have fun,' I thought. He grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes. " Y/n you're the love of my life. I want you to be mine forever. I know we are still young but I love you and I can't wait. Y/n, will you marry me?" I looked at Tyler, and saw the hope in his eyes, that would soon be gone. " Tyler I...I...I just can't. I'm really sorry. I got to go." I jumped up and ran home as fast as I could.

When I got home, I quickly ran up to my room as fast as I could. I slammed the door and locked it. I flopped on my bed and started sobbing. 'Tyler probably hates me know. Will he ever talk to me again?' I heard a knock on my door and my mom said " Y/n, sweetie are you okay?" I wiped my eyes and got up and unlocked my door. I fell into my mom's arms and continued to sob. I told her what happened and why I did what I did. She just listened till I was done. Then she said, " I know you love him, but I think you did the right thing. Going to college would be very dull and boring when your married and having a husband to worry about. Just remember, Tyler isn't just your boyfriend. He's also your best friend, and it's been like that for a long time. He'll understand, just give him time." I thanked my mom and told her I was going to bed. That night I fell asleep with my mom's words swarming around my brain.

This is the day I'm leaving for college. After that day, I hadn't talked to Tyler. I texted and called him and he ignored me. I knew he wouldn't understand. I texted his friends Adam and Ty and all they said, was he didn't want to talk about it and he isn't taking it well. I told them to tell him I missed him and to text me back. I never got a reply.

I made it to y/c and it was amazing. I decided to try and forget about Tyler. But, it was hard. I always thought about him.

It's been 4 years and I'm finished with college. I moved back to my hometown and I got a the job of my dreams. Now that I got my life together, I had to sort everything out with Tyler. I walked to his house and knocked on his door. He opened the door and looked shocked. He goes to slam the door but I stick my foot in the way.
T: Y/n go away! Leave me alone!
Y: Tyler, stop! I want to talk to you. I want to tell you why I did what I did.
T: I know why you did what you did! Tyler opened the door and looked me in the eyes.
Y: You do
I whispered, hopeful
T: Yeah, you didn't love me enough
Tyler was about to break down in tears and my look softened.
Y: Tyler, no no no. That's not why I ran away. I just didn't know what to do. I love you with all my heart, it's just I couldn't say yes then. I was going to college and I wanted to get that done with, then settle down. I hope you understand.
Tyler looked at me like he felt guilty. He thought I didn't love him.
T: I'm sorry for ignoring you. I didn't know. I should of answered your calls and texts.
Y: Tyler don't blame yourself. I shouldn't of ran away. I'm sorry.
Tyler pulled me into a hug and we stayed like that for awhile. He then pulled away.
T: Y/n, stay here. I want to go get something.
With that Tyler ran up the stairs and come back in a minute or so. When he come down he grabbed my hand.
T: Y/n let's try this again. Shall we?
Tyler got down on one knee and pulled out the ring he proposed with 4 years ago.
T: Y/n, will you marry me?
Y: Of course Tyler!
He slipped the ring on my finger and stood up and gave me a kiss. I finally got my life fully together.
