I wake up in the morning feeling very happy. considering the fact that I woke up in my newly found mate's arms, this is a plausible reason to be. I yawn and snuggle deeper into his arms because I never want to leave this bed.
"Love, we have to get up."
"But I don't wanna," I saw while yawning.
"I know, but we have a plane to catch."
"Oh yeah. Can we just lay a little while longer? Please?"
"I was going to wake you up earlier, but I just couldn't help but let you sleep longer. Did you have a good dream?"
"Um, well. Yeah," I whisper quietly while blushing.
"What was it about?"
"Do you have some colored pencils and paper up here by any chance?" I say while sitting up.
"Actually, yes, I do. What does that have to so with anything?"
"Will you just grab them for me?
"Okay?" Asher walks over to a black backpack and grabs out a drawing pad and colored pencils while I walk over to the table. "Why do you need this stuff?"
"You see, I have a gift. Let me just show you." I open up the drawing pad to a clean page and take the colored pencils out of the packet. As I pick one up, I feel my eyes roll to the back of my head.
~Dreamscape~
I am in a wide open field in what seems like the fall evening with a truck behind me. I look off in the distance to see a little girl and boy running in a field with a man. I happily run to catch up to them. When I come close to all of them, I don't stop running. We all end up in a big pile laughing. It turns out that it is Asher with the little children who look awfully similar. We all head back to the truck. I make four sandwiches while Asher and the little ones set out the blanket. I bring the food over to the blanket. We all ate and Asher told the children the story of how we met. Then, we played hide-and-go-seek. Finally, we all laid out on blankets underneath the stars, all cuddling into each other. Asher kissed me, and the little boy yelled,"EW! COOTIES!" while the little girl awed.

"Cass? Cass? Are you okay?"
My eyes roll back forward."Yeah. I'm fine." I look down at the drawing, and it's a picture or Asher telling the story of how we met to the little, dreamily-eyed children. "So what do you think?" I say while pushing the picture toward him.
"Wow. This is so amazing! It's so life-like. Who are those little kids?"
"I have no idea. Just two little kids that popped into my dream. I have drawn the little girl many times, but not the little boy."
"You mean, you have more drawings like this?"
"Yeah all those pictures hanging on my wall are mine."
"I thought those were photos! Have you drawn me before this? This is your gift?"
"Nope, but I did write my name as Mrs. Cassandra Parker. And yes, this is my gift. I get visions or sometimes dreams, and then my eyes get clouded and roll to the back of my head. It's like my mind takes over when I draw."
"That amazing, love, but we have to go now. You literally just spent forty-five minutes on that picture."
"Oh shit. I'm sorry. I really can't control it. I'll go hurry up and change." I jog into the bathroom and put on a pair of dark, high-waisted skinny jeans, a cream and grey-stripped sweater that has lace on the shoulders, with a pair of lace-up wedges. As I open the door running my fingers through my auburn hair so it's not knotted, I say, "Wow. You are pretty amazing at picking out outfits, Ash."
"Well I wanted you to look nice when you meet my parents. They are going to be on the plane when we get there."
"ARE YOU SERIOUS? OH GODDES. I'M NOT EVEN PREPARED. What are they like?"
"They are a lot nicer than your adoptive parents! My mom, Corinne, will probably ask you a lot of quiestions about your family. My dad, Theo, is very strong-headed but kind at the same time. Just be yourself. They will love you. I know they will."
"This is just all of a sudden. I don't know if i'm ready yet, Ash." I look down finding the carpet the most interesting thing in the room. Asher picks up my chin with his finger and grabs my hand with the other. "What?"
"You're so perfect. You have nothing to be afraid of, darling!" I smile and let go of his hand, so I can put them behind his head. "Feel better?"
"Yeah! I do." We stand there forever, stuck in our little world. I feel as if in his embrace, time slows down. The latch between us is growing stronger even if we've only known each other for almost twenty-four hours. I just stare into those wonderful eyes for a long time. I lean into him for a kiss. It's just so magical. I feel almost like an electric shock run through my body. He breaks the kiss, but our foreheads are still touching. "Wow."
"I know," he says breathily while smiling. He checks his phone,"We gotta leave now. We are forty-five minutes late."
"Oops! Are we going to pick up Morgan and Jack?"
"Nope. When you fell asleep, I unlocked your phone, called her, and told her to meet us at the airport."
"How'd you know my pass-code?"
"It was 1111. Everyone knows that's the second pass-code someone uses!"
"Oh. I thought no one would guess it..."
We check out of the hotel and leave for the airport. I am so nervous right now. I don't want to be a let down to Ash's parents. What if they don't like me? I start chewing at my nails, my nervous habit. I mean, if my own "parents" didn't like me, then why would his?
"You ready, love?"
"I guess."
