They said Cas would be ready to leave the hospital in about a day. They needed to monitor him carefully overnight to make sure nothing happened.

And Dean swore to himself that he'd keep an eye on him too. He wasn't gonna let him out of his sight. Even if that meant one more sleepless night.

Cas woke up at around noon. He looked at Dean and smiled.

"Hello, Dean."

"Hello, angel." Dean smiled back at him tiredly.

"Have you been sleeping? You look like hell."

"Everyone always says that. I'm fine. And so are you. They're letting you outta here tomorrow. Gonna keep you overnight to be safe."

His smile grew faintly. "Good. That's good."

"You bet it is." Dean mumbled.

"Dean, you need rest."

"I need you. Sleep is for quitters. I'm no quitter."

"I know you aren't. That's why you're still here."

"Better believe it."

"Thank you, Dean. For being there."

"I'll always be there. I love you, Cas."

"I love you more."

"I love you most."

"Oh, it's a competition, I see."

Dean chuckled, as did Cas. Dean ran his fingers through his angel's mussed up hair.

"You're my whole world."

"And you are mine."

"And I can't wait for tomorrow."

"Neither can I."

"I just want to hold you in my arms again."

"And you will. Tomorrow."

Dean sighed lightly. "Tomorrow, tomorrow. Gotta hang on till tomorrow."

Cas smiled. "We should both get some rest."

"It's noon, Cas."

"And it's been how long since you last slept?"

Dean rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. I hear ya."

"Sleep, Dean."

"I just wanna make sure you'll be there when I wake up."

"You know I will. Just... try. For me."

Dean nodded slightly. "Okay. See you when you wake up."

He gave him a kiss on the forehead just as he fell asleep.

Dean yawned, growing increasingly fatigued every second. He held Cas's hand and propped himself up by his elbow against the short railing along the hospital bed. He kept watching over his angel, barely keeping his eyes open.

His head slid off his hand every now and then, waking him back up. He rested his chin back on his palm and struggled to stay awake.

He decided to take a walk out in the hallway to keep himself awake. He ran into Bobby outside.

"Dean. You okay?"

"I'm fine. Just tired."

Bobby held up a cup of coffee. "Got you some coffee."

Dean took it. "Thanks, Bobby. I could use some." He took a long sip.

"How's Cas?"

"He's good. He's asleep. They're letting him out tomorrow."

"Good. Glad to hear that."

"I just want it to be tomorrow like right now."

Bobby patted him on the shoulder. "Don't worry. Tomorrow'll be here before you know it."

"It better be," He took another sip. "Where's Sam?"

"Dropped him off over at Rufus's place. I just hope he hasn't found his Johnny Walker Blue."

Dean chuckled. "When he was five, dad super glued beer goggles to his face for almost a week. He knows better than to drink."

They both laughed. "Wanna know a secret?"

"What?"

"That was my idea."

They laughed again. "I should get back in there. Keep an eye on him."

Bobby nodded. "See ya later, then."

Dean went back inside, Cas still sound asleep. He sat back in that chair and kept a watchful eye, his fingers entwined with his angel's.

He finished his coffee and threw the cup in the small wastebasket by the door. How he made that shot, he wasn't sure. He had to throw it with his left hand.

Although he drank a medium size espresso, he still couldn't fight his drowsiness. He propped himself back up by his elbow on the short railing and almost instantly fell asleep.

._.__.~Midnight~.__._.

Cas woke up, still a bit tired. He felt Dean's hand in his own and closed his fingers around it. He looked up and saw Dean asleep by his bed, snoring softly. He was slumped over the railing, his head resting on his arm. Cas smiled sleepily and closed his eyes, drifting back into unconsciousness.
