5: Dark

"Go on, dye it black." I threw the black hair dye at Kazuo. I felt a bit bad watching him trying to function with one broken arm but at the same time I couldn't feel bad.

"They know it's me because the tattoo." He said.

"Go remove it. I'll give you the money you gave me."

I turned my heel and walked out the bathroom feeling accomplished. Maybe I was the evil one deep down. I thought back at the girl from next door.

-

I saw the girl from next door watering flowers. I went to approach her and she looked scared.

"It's okay. I am...Kazuo." I knelt down to her level. "I saw what my brother did. I can help you out. I hate him."

"He told me not to tell anyone or else he will hurt my parents." Her voice was shaky.

"I have video evidence. We can take it to the station. I can drive us there."

She looked hesitant. "But what if he finds out?"

"Who cares, he will be in prison or juvie."

She kept quiet and kept staring at me nervously. I knew she must of felt uncomfortable so I had to suggest an alternative.

"There is a pastry shop within walking distance in the corner of this neighborhood. I'll treat you."

Her eyes brightened a bit. "Oh you don't have to."

"For my brother's wrongdoings, I don't mind."

Eventually I got her to walk with me. What a stupid bitch.

We reached the pastry shop as I watched her browse the wide selection of pastries. "Choose anyone you like and a drink. I'll cover you." I said.

"Okay." She smiled. She ended up choosing a strawberry tart with a strawberry drink.

"You can go sit. I'll pay." I smiled.

She went to sit at a table near the window so she could see the view of the neighborhood.

The cashier yawned and gave me the bag and drink. I paid and thanked her. I went to the table where the straws and condiments were. Opening the cap of the drink, I slowly poured in some rohypnol in her drink and mixed it with the straw. It was so quick and smooth that it made me felt like I was guilty for doing this before.

"Here you go." I smiled and handed her the drink. "You know if you let the drink sit for five minutes, the flavor is more intensified." I lied.

"I'll try it." She smiled and took a bite from the tart.

"Are you down to going to the station?" I asked again hoping this time she was more comfortable.

"If you promise that he won't know about it." She stared.

"Yeah, of course." I tapped my foot rapidly hoping she would eat faster.

"Want to take a walk home? It's almost lunch time and my mom might want me home."

"Yes!" I excitedly said.
