After flying out of the biology building and earning a few questionable stares from nearby peers, your nerves finally began to settle. Your second class was organic chemistry, lucky Jotaro wasn't in it. Your head was swimming with questions— if Jotaro could see your friend, does that mean he has one as well? How many other people have a guardian like yourself? How are his eyes so beautiful? How is HE so beau—
You shook your head trying to clear the last thought from your head. He was an ass more than anything, and you needed to pay attention to your professor.
Biochem came can end, which meant it was lunchtime. You carefully placed your supplies in your bag and made your way to the courtyard. There were a few students scattered across the open area, you were thankful it wasn't crowded.
Settling on a park bench, you pull out your lunch for the day- jalapeño Cheetos. You open the bag and pop a couple in your mouth, unaware of a particular man with jade eyes making his way towards you.
"You." A booming voice from behind startles you, almost causing you to choke on spicy Cheeto dust. You turn around wide eyed, craning your neck to meet the towering mans'
striking gaze. It was just as beautiful but cold and defensive, you cower back, anxiety once again staring to rise.
"Y-yes..?" Your small voice wavers.
Jotaros' eyes flicker, as if he was thinking to himself. It softens slightly, but still sharp as a knife.
"You have a stand." His tone was blunt, a statement more than a question.
"A what..?"
Jotaro sighs. "A stand, the manifestation of your fighting spirit. The green giant talking to a bird in the middle of class."
Your brain clicked, your mouth forming an 'o' as you figured out what he was talking about. "Oh, you mean Vera,"
Hearing her name, Vera manifests, hovering next to you, eyeing the towering man before crouching next to you in an attempt to hide herself. You look back at her and smile reassuringly.
"I never knew what she really was so I've only ever called her a friend. She's called a stand? A fighting spirit...strange.." you trail off, looking back at Jotaro. "I assume you'd have one as well then?"
Jotaro lowers the brim of his hat. "..yes."
You crack a small smile, guess you were right. "Can I see it?" You ask, cocking your head to the side.
Jotaro remains silent, his face shrouded by the shadow of his hat.
"I-I mean you don't have to," You start, "I've just never met anyone else with a stand, I was just curious-"
You stoped abruptly when you spot something tall and muscular start to appear behind jotaro. It was purple and blue, sporting two large shoulder pads and midnight hair that swayed and swirled in non-existent wind. It towered over Jotaro, chiseled like a god, and sported the same ocean eyes as its user. You were in awe, to saw the least.
"Wow.." your voice was barely a whisper, (e/c) orbs flickering between the ethereal being and Jotaro. Vera straightens herself, eyes filled with curiosity at a potential new friend who as similar to herself. "What's its name?" You ask.
Jotaro turns his head avoiding eye contact. "Star Platinum," his deep voice nonchalant.
"ORA!" His stand beams.
"Hello Star, this is Vera," you grin, gesturing toward your stand which had slowly made its way towards the pair.
"Viva!" Vera whisper yells. She floats around both Jotaro and Star, inspecting them both before gazing up at Star Platinum. Her gemstone eyes fix on his ever swaying hair, a curious hand reaches out to poke it. Star smiles, Jotaro raises a brow.
"Vera, don't be weird," you mumble, "Sorry, she's just curious."
Jotaro crosses his arms and shrugs. Star Platinum fades away, Vera frowns before dematerializing. You look down and pick at your fingers. You were never a talker, you guessed he wasn't either. A few moments passed and was starting to get awkward.
"What can she do?" Jotaros voice cuts through the silence.
"Huh- oh. Um, she can speak to animals. She can also manipulate the growth and decay of plant life, but," you look around at the students still scattered across the courtyard. "I don't want to..cause a commotion."
Jotaro hums. It was a good thing you weren't looking at him, you could feel a tinge of heat start to creep along your cheeks. 'I should not be this attracted to a mans voice,' you curse yourself.
You check the time on your phone, and let out a shakey sigh. "I-I have to go, my next class is on the other side of campus, it's going to take me awhile to get there." You grab your half eaten bag of Cheetos and stand up, still avoiding the mans gaze. "I'll see you later I gue-"
"After school." He cuts you off.
"Wha..?" You turn your head slightly to peer at him through the corner of your eye.
"After school," he repeats. "Show me then."
"..okay," you reply without really thinking.
Jotaro nods before he turns around and walks off, hands in his pockets. You turn your head fully, staring at the strange man before he disappears off into the distance. You stand there for a moment, still trying to process the fact that the schools most menacing man decided to talk to you, introduced you to his stand, and that you had agreed to meet with him again once class was over.
"What a bizarre fuckin' day," you mumble, before heading towards your next class in a daze.________________________________
