The windows were violently rattling due to the harsh winds outside. This storm was one of the worst the less fortunate people of this small village had seen in years, maybe even decades.

The thunder boomed outside scaring these villagers half to death, after all they were just a small clan of wolves. Inside one of the smaller cottages lived a young woman with striking bahama blue eyes and wavy dark blonde hair. She was stunning and absolutely perfect to anyone who didn't know her.

Her mate kneeled next to her on the hard wooden floors. She desperately squeezed his hand like there was no tomorrow as their beautiful daughter was brought into this scary world. He cut the umbilical cord and handed their daughter, their unique daughter, to her mother.

The young lady cooed at the baby in her arms while cradling her. Neither the young woman nor the young man realized that the world would be forever changed with her presence. The mother was shooshing her baby as she let out soft cries.

Her husband walked back with a towel and wrapped the extremely small newborn in it. She was probably about half the size she should be as a newborn. The man could easily hold her in one hand.

"Thank you moon goddess." Smiled the young girl looking up at the ceiling, pretending the night stars were what she truly saw. Not an old ceiling with water leaking down from the storm.

"She's beautiful." The man smiled.

A few days passed and the baby grew ill. She cried all day and all night while accumulating a high temperature.

They called the local witch who lives on the outskirts of this village, desperate for answers. She had wrinkly skin and was extremely bony, her appearance often lead people away, however on the inside she was a sweet, caring and magical person. Literally.

" Let me see her." She spoke as she walked through the creaky old door. She walked through the house with water droplets staining her clothing. The storm hadn't changed it's pace, it was just as deadly as it was the day their beautiful daughter was born. The small village was barely holding on.

"She isn't just a werewolf." Was the first thing out of her mouth. The witch's gaze never wavered from the child. Barely able to contain her surprise at this unexpected child.

The young woman and man gave each other confused looks before turning their attention back on the witch.

"That isn't possible." He spoke. "We are both werewolves." Neither of them understood. They didn't understand that their daughter was different.

"The moon goddess must have sent her down along with other gods and goddesses. She is a loophole in nature." She said watching the baby curiously. "She has a demon in her, a beastly side, and a magical, almost angelic side to her." She said even more confused.

"You must protect her at all costs. Her life is more valuable then you know." Was all she said before leaving the small cottage.

10 years later

"Again!" Yelled my Dad.

"I can't." I pouted, extremely frustrated. Mommy and Daddy believed that I should be trained in combat. But I don't see the reason. It's not like they let me see people anyway.

"Come on." He said raising his training stick. I raised mine too and we began sparring again.

Hit. Hit. Dodge. Hit. Hit. And then I fell to the ground with a thump.

"I don't want to do this anymore Dad." I frowned my fingers digging into the muddy ground beneath me.

"Rosa is coming over today to check on you." He reminded me. "Why don't you go inside and see your mom, alright sweetie? We can practice again later." He told me ruffling my hair.

Rosa was the witch that's been helping me with spells and defensive magic all of my life, basically. She was the only outsider that I knew. Or the only person I really knew besides my parents.

"How was training sweet pea?" Asked my Mom as we walked into the kitchen to see her flipping through a special book. I tried to peak and see what it was but she quickly closed it and put it back on the shelf where I can't reach it. I could feel funny shocks run throughout my body every time it was near me, but mom said I am not allowed to go near it until I'm old enough.

"Awful." I said. She smiled and started chuckling.

"It will get better. And I made us a bunch of peanut butter chocolate chip cookies which are you favorite." I immediately started giggling. I was about to stuff my face with a few when there was a familiar knock on the door.

"Come in Rosa!" Called mom quickly putting the cookies out of my reach. Rosa walked into the room and gave everyone a quick hug.

"Okay sweetie go over by the measuring wall." She nodded towards it. I stood in the door frame as she checked to see if I've grown this month. She sighed and just shook her head at my parents. "Still 3'8"." She frowned.

"It's okay she still has time to grow. The average height for someone her age is 4'5" so I mean she is still behind." She said giving me a sympathetic look. "There are always prices to pay with this type of power."

"Okay have we worked on those spells I taught you last week?" She questioned. I just nodded. I went to raise my hand when there were screams outside. I jumped and accidentally shattered the glasses laid out in front of me.

Mom and Dad immediately stood around me protectively as Rosa looked out the window.

"Bandits." She muttered.

"Get her out of here." Dad said to Mom. She picked me up and ran out the back door.

"What about daddy and Rosa?" I questioned tears filling my eyes.

"Don't cry baby they will be okay, they will find us as soon as they get out."She said. "We have a safe house in case things like this were to ever happen to keep you safe. We heard more screams from the village. "I need to go back." She said. "Stay in here no matter what." she said gently placing me down inside of a small cave under a bunch of tree roots. I curled myself into a tiny ball as I tried to tune everything out.

I raised my hands to my ears and kept telling myself that Mommy, Daddy and Rosa are okay. Tears were rushing down my face as sobs racked through my shaking body.

"Hello there." I jumped when I was met with a pair of green eyes. "What are you doing down here?" Asked the boy. "Mommy told me to stay here." I said. "Want to come to my house to wait for her?" He asked sticking his hand out. "It's all rainy and gross out today and you look like you could use a hot chocolate." He smiled with a goofy grin, he was missing his front teeth.

"She told me I wasn't allowed to leave here." I said.

"I live right back there." He said pointing deeper into the woods. "She will be able to find you."

"I'm Lincoln." He smiled.

"I'm Brielle." I took his hand and walked towards his house with him.
