Blood, that's all I could see. Blood was soaking through his shirt and no spells were working to heal him. Erin was also slipping away in the front seat, but her wounds were as stable as I could get them for the moment. Jake and I were on a mission to save them. We refused to let them die on us.

I raised my hands and cast a spell trying to heal Lincoln, but he was bleeding too much. Maybe I had to let my demon take over, she was stronger than I was.

"Jake no matter what happens do not stop the car." I told him taking a deep breath. I saw him glance at me from the rear view mirror, giving me a frantic yet questioning look, but nodded nonetheless.

I focused and channeled my anger towards the rogues who did this.

I groaned and gripped tightly onto Lincoln's shirt. I felt myself slip into my subconscious.

"Help me heal him." I told her.

She lowered my arms so they were on his chest and suddenly waves of magic escaped my body surrounding his. The bleeding was slowing down but he was no where near fine.

"Help her too." I spoke in my head.

My arms extended and gripped onto her shoulders as more magic flowed from my body to surround hers. The same thing was happening with her that was happening with Lincoln.

I was going to need  to try and hold this until we get back to the pack. I don't care if it kills me, I won't let anyone else die because of me.

Hours passed and I felt exhausted mentally and physically. I was breathing heavily and had a very painful pounding in my head.

"We're almost back Brielle. You just have to hold it up for a few more minutes." Jake reassured me. He had to be going at least seventy or eighty miles per hour right now, swerving every now and then to dodge a tree.

I took in another shaky breath as I tried to keep the shields that had formed around them up. Neither one of them was still bleeding out.

Finally after what felt like an hour but was really about ten minutes, we got to the pack. James, Rosa and Brent were all standing outside the pack hospital waiting for us along with Dr. Lana and a few other nurses and doctors that I didn't recognize.

"Brielle, hold on." He told me jumping out of the car. I wasn't going to let them go until they were all on the stretchers and ready to be treated. They all rushed to the caf doors and opened them. They got Erin out and on a stretcher, nurses and doctors running around frantically and preparing for her to start bleeding out again. They then took Lincoln out of the car and away from me. I shakily scooted out and clutched onto the car door afraid my legs were going to give out. I felt myself slipping from the amount of magic I've used. Jake came out of no where and gripped onto my waist helping me stand. James was rushing after Lincoln who was being brought into the hospital. Rosa walked over to me and looked me over.

"You need to get inside and sit down." She practically ordered me. I weakly nodded and Jake helped me walk.

"Where are they taking Lincoln?" I asked him.

"He's in the operating room so we are just going to wait for them in the waiting room, okay?" He asked me. He opened the door and led me down the familiar hallway. He gently helped me sit down on one of the plastic chairs.

"Gamma Jake?" Asked a frantic nurse running down the hallway holding a scalpel that was bent all the way to the side.

"We were going to take the bullet out but that shield is still around him and we can't bring any of our equipment near them." She spoke.

"You need to drop the shield so they can do what they need to do to save them." He told me shaking my shoulders. I nodded and let myself let go. I began violently coughing for a few seconds until I felt myself gaining energy back.

"Why don't we ask someone to get you a room so you can lie down?" He asked me and I just shook my head. I was tired of hospitals. I don't want to have to go back into one of those dreadful rooms. Especially alone. I really don't want to be alone right now.

A few more hours passed until they said I could go see Lincoln.

I walked in and saw him with wires all over him and a huge bandage over his abdomen. I slowly dragged one of those uncomfortable plastic chairs over by his bed and sat down next to him. He looked pale and bruised. I wasn't strong enough to protect him, I should've sent that guy with the gun. I should've stopped him before this happened, this was all my fault. I couldn't stop the tears that welled up in my eyes at the sight of my mate. The person I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. Sure we don't get along, a lot of the time, but this really opens your eyes. When you see the person you love the most in the world lying on a bed with an injury that could've killed them it makes you realize how you shouldn't spend your time angry but always happy because you don't know how much time you really have left.

I knelt my head down so it was on his arm and gripped onto his fingers with my small hands  as I felt myself drift off into much needed sleep.
