Brielle's POV

I woke up with a bad headache and back in my bed. I slowly stood up and winced when I felt a searing pain travel up my arms.

I slowly rolled up my sleeves to see all of the bandages wrapped up to my elbows. I shrieked when I accidentally pressed too hard on one of the bandages. I lost my balance on the bed and collapsed to the floor connecting hard with the wooden floors. I groaned out and cursed my lack of balance.

The door slammed opened and Lincoln barged in before I could even attempt to get up. Great. Just great.

"Your awake." He smiled and hurried over helping me get up.

"You overused your magic." He said. I just nodded mentally yelling at myself for being so stupid.

"Brielle! What were you thinking! You could've killed yourself!" Yelled an angry James as he stormed through the doorframe. I suddenly found my fingers very interesting as I looked at my bloodied, picked at nails.

"I'm sorry." I heard him sigh before walking over and pulling me against his chest.

"You scared me kiddo." He whispered into my hair.

"Let me see your burns." He spoke quietly, pulling away. I lifted my wrists and he carefully removed the bandages. I hissed in pain a few times when the bandages weren't as willing to come off.

"Dad." Growled Lincoln when I shrieked. My skin has black and purple burns with bloody spots scattered throughout.

"I haven't gotten ones this bad in a really long time." I sighed trying to stop the frown from overtaking my face.

"No magic for the rest of the week." James scolded.

"No! Are you crazy! I need to practice! You can't take it away because of me just defending us from those rogues. If I hadn't we would have both been dead right now!" I said growing angry.

"I know! But do you want these to get worse! You have to know your limits!" His voice raising.

"Watch it." Growled Lincoln.

Suddenly James seemed to break. He grabbed my upper arm where there were no burns and yanked me out the room.

Lincoln ran after us as James kept shoving me through the house.

"James Stop." I cried. He opened the front door and pushed me out.

"Look at all of that!" He screamed. He's never been this angry at me before.

"Do you see what you did!" He yelled pointing at all the dead grass and dead flowers that now surrounded our house.

"Your powers are getting out of hand. Why can't you just be normal for once. You could have fucking killed somebody! Killed yourself!" He yelled rubbing his temple while his other hand still had an iron grip on my arm.

I just looked down at my hands while the tears refused to stop rolling down my cheeks. He's never, ever been that angry. Especially at me before.
I started wiping furiously at my tears. Pleading with myself to make them stop.

"You make it sound like I wanted these powers which I never did. I want to just get to be a normal eighteen year old without having to worry about hurting someone or people always out to kill me! I hate myself because I'm different! I don't want to be like this! And I'm just sorry you got stuck with having to deal with me. Once, I'm healed I'll fix this first." I spoke quietly, before walking away from the house and towards the woods. Not really knowing what I was planning on doing. James just needed time to cool off and me being around isn't going to help.
