I screamed as I got pulled from the cave, my hair being ripped from my head.

Lanie and Marsha started crying, as I got thrown to the ground, and punched relentlessly.

"Michael, stop!" I beg, "Please, not in front of the girls!"

My breathing quickening, my arms flailing out in front of me, to stop the punches.

"You stupid bitch!" Michael yells, "Did you seriously think you could run from me?"

He took a swing at me again, and hit my right arm. I felt a crack vibrate all the way up my arm, to my shoulder.

I scream out in pain.

"Michael, please!" I moaned.

"Daddy! Stop hitting Mama!" Lanie cried out, from the cave.

I looked over at the girls, blood covering my face and in my mouth.

"Run, my darlings." I manage to whisper.

Michael kept punching into me, but this time, started on my ribs and stomach.

I groaned in pain, as I saw the girls shift and run into the woods.

"You stupid cunt!" He said as he punched my stomach twice.

"Michael," I gag, "you're killing me."

My eyes slowly fade out of focus, my arms drop to my side.

I can't fight it anymore. I'm going to die.

I start to hear little whimpers and small howls coming from behind Michael.

"Girls, no." I breathe, "run."

They walk to the edge of the small clearing, where our pond cave is, and start whining.

Behind them, stands a large, silver wolf.

Darius. They found Darius.

Darius howls loudly from the trees.

Michael turns, and looks at him.

They run towards each other, Michael shifting just before they collide.

I try to roll over onto my side, then crawl towards Lanie and Marsha, they meet me halfway.

They slide their little bodies under my arms, and help me crawl away.

I let out a groan, and almost collapse on top of them.

We manage to make it to the tree line. From there, Lanie went back to the cave, and returned with the backpack in her mouth.

She placed it on the ground, and shifted.

Then quickly grabbed clothes from the backpack to put on.

Marsha did the same.

"Are you girls alright?" I choke.

"We are fine, Mama." Lanie replies, with tears building in her eyes.

"You both need to leave." I mumble, "it's not safe for you."

"We aren't leaving you, Mama." Marsha replies.

Everything around me started fading away.

Then it goes black.

I woke up screaming to searing pain in my right arm.

Everything was too bright, and hurt my eyes.

"Lanie!" I paused, "Marsha!"

I tried to sit up, but the electric pain ran everywhere in my body, and I screamed again.
