Arriving home, we stumble inside and close the door.

Marcus and Alex were watching TV in the main room.

As we walked in, Marcus turned to us, looked at me and shone a big smile my way.

I blush, and glance down to the ground.

"How was the hospital?" Alex joked, sticking his tongue out at us.

Darius chuckled, and wrapped his arm around me, pulling me to him.

"Well, they say it's serious," he pauses, "they might have to cut it off at the neck."

Marcus and Alex burst into laughter.

Standing up, they walk our way, say their farewells and left.

Darius looked down, locking eyes with me.

"I guess we should get some sleep." He suggests, draping his arm over my shoulders.

I nod, and yawn.

We turn around and walk down the hallway to our rooms, stopping outside our doors, on opposite sides of the hall.

I open the door to my room, and glance over my shoulder at Darius, and flick him a minor smile.

"Goodnight." I say.

"Goodnight." He responds.

I wander to the bed, lay down under the covers, fluff my pillow and turn the bedside lamp off.

As I close my eyes, I hear rustling outside my window. Opening them, I get up to suss out the noise.

I stick my head out the window, scan the area and see something come towards my face.

I black out.

I wake up in a dark room, a shed of some form I assume.

I try to stand up and walk, but collapse on the ground. Sitting on the floor, I feel my ankles and find chains locked to my right leg.

Panic begins to set in, and I start hyperventilating.

Okay, where am I, and why am I here? I thought to myself.

I hear clanking, a slam and a door opens, within blinding light coming through and a silhouette of a man appears.

My hand flies up to my eyes, giving me time to adjust to the light.

Michael.

I scream.

"Shut the fuck up!" He shouts.

"What do you want with me, Michael?" I cry, tears falling down my cheeks.

He walks forward, and squats in front of me, leaning in, glaring at me.

"Where's your little dog, now?" He scoffs, grabbing my chin tightly.

I jerk my head out of his hand, and look away.

"He will find me, and he will kill you." I reply.

Michael laughs, and stands up.

"We will see about that." He smirks, as he walks back towards to door.

"Fuck you!" I shout.

"Later," he winks, "you need an attitude adjustment, woman."

He walks out, and leaves the door open just enough that I can make out greenery and a few lavender plants.

I take the time to assess where I am.

Looking around the room, it's just empty.

I sigh in disappointment.

***** Darius' POV *****

I wake up at 9 o'clock and head out to the kitchen to have some breakfast.

"Alecia?" I call out, as I notice she wasnt in the kitchen or loungeroom, where she normally is before I am awake and out of bed.

I walk down the hallway and edge open her door and glance inside.

She wasn't in her room either.

I continue down the hallway to Lanie and Marsha's bedroom, the door was open and there was no sign of the girls.

I jog through the house and out the back door, hoping they would be out on the swing or playing in the yard.

Still no sign of them.

I pick up the scent of another shifter, and follow it. It leads into the woods, and I continue following it, wondering what they would be doing out here.

I run for a while before, following the scent before it just vanishes.

I shift and run back to the cabin. I get back, shift again and make a call to Marcus and Alex.

"Alecia and the pups are gone, come over." I bark through the phone.

Marcus and Alex turn up not long after I hung up the phone.

I've been pacing for a while now, trying to think of where they'd be.

"Alpha, calm down," Alex said, "We will find them."

"They can't be too far." Marcus added.

"Find them!" I order.

They nodded and ran out.

I turned and walked out the back door again.

Shifting, I followed the scent once more and searched the area around it.

Where could they be? I thought.

I howled, then Marcus and Alex arrived behind me.

They looked at me, and followed.

I began running towards where I met Alecia for the first time, and past there. We ran in the same direction for what seemed like forever.

I jumped over logs and dodged trees, keeping my eyes straight.

There it is! That scent! I thought, and stopped dead in my tracks.

Alex and Marcus did the same.

We started to stalk the scent and found an old shack.

I glanced to the boys, they nodded and snuck around either side of it, while I stalked towards the entrance.

The scent got stronger, the closer I got to the door.

I hear movement inside the shack, walk beside the door, and crouch, waiting to jump at whoever walks out.

Michael emerges from the entrance and I attack, biting into his arm, he screams then shifts.

He knocks me off, and pushes me to the ground.

I try to kick him off with my hind legs, scratching at his stomach and ribs.

Alex and Marcus run from behind to house and pounce on him, ripping at his ears and flank.

Michael swings around, grabs Alex by the throat and shakes his head to the side.

With a large snapping sound, Alex drops to the ground and shifts back, writhing around, before going still.

I leap up, tackle into Michael, and pin him to the ground.

Marcus rips into his front leg, peeling flesh off the bone.

Michael growls out in pain, and starts howling.

I bite his jaw, exposing his teeth, and tear out the muscle. Blood began pouring out and splattering across my face.

He begins to whimper and slowly stops fighting.

He passes out, and shifts back to his human form, blood pooling around his limp body.

"Alex!" Marcus cries out, as he's shifted and run towards his lifeless body.

I shift and walk behind him, and pat him on the back, trying to calm him, tears silently running down my own cheeks.

"Go find Alecia and the pups." Marcus whispered, "I will have to move him."

I looked at him and nodded.

I shifted and walked inside the shack.
