~Wide awake and so confused~

*Beth's POV*
When we reached home, I knew I wasn't gonna get away this time. Mom pulled me to sit on the couch as Demi watched from the kitchen, CLEARLY eavesdropping. "So, care to tell me why you were being rude to your teacher?" Mom raised an eyebrow as her face filled with anger. "Before I explain myself, wasn't Demi supposed to be in LA touring? When did she come back?" I asked.

"Last midnight, now don't try and change the topic, why were you rude towards your teacher?" Mom continued. "Everytime I arrived late to class, she keeps yelling at me," I simply stated. "This isn't an excuse, why are you always late for class?" Mom asked a second question. "B-because..." well, fuck you Elizabeth, you stuttered. "Because...???" Mom cocked an eyebrow. "Because I always have to pee before classes," I said quickly. Mom sighed, "I'm sorry Beth, but I'm gonna have to ground you for one week, no phones, no laptops, no iPods, hand them over now... please."

"But Mom-" I tried fighting. "No buts, this is all for your own good Elizabeth, please," she practically begged. "Fine," I groaned as I ran up to my room and came down with all of my electronics. "You may go up to your room sweetheart," Mom smiled. Demi, on the other hand, giggled as I made my way up the stairs and shot her a death glare. This bitch. I wish I can get rid of her annoying ass.
.
I closed the bathroom door and made sure it was locked before picking up the blade I've been using for years. I dragged the shiny metal piece across my skin as I watched the blood drip out silently. After doing it 10 times, I decided to clean it up. I rolled down my sleeves and walked out the bathroom. I can't believe it, my mom just took the most important things away from me. I stared at the little picture of Demi, Dallas, Maddie and I. We took that picture 4 years ago, when everything was fine. When I didn't have depression, and when the relationship between me and Demi was closer. I don't know why our sisterhood fell apart a year later, but it did.

*Demi's POV*
I giggled as mom took Beth's electronics away. Maybe she did deserve it. After all, she has been a spoilt brat for years. "Demetria!" Mom whisper-shouted as Beth closed the door to her room. "What?" I said in between giggles. "What? You've been treating your little sister like she's a stranger after you came back from your Future Now Tour, I think it's only fair for you to apologize to her now," Mom ordered sternly. "Mom, Beth has been acting like a spoilt brat, why on earth should I apologize to HER?!" I pointed sarcastically at Beth's bedroom door. By the look on her face, Mom surely bought none of that. "Demi, ever since you came back from tour in 2016, you've changed," Mom said. "I've changed? SHE'S changed, not ME!" I couldn't believe she's siding with Beth. "No, after you came back, you've been hanging out with Maddie and Dallas a lot and leaving Beth crying in the corner! And don't come telling me she's a spoilt brat, because she isn't. She's been skipping meals everyday and kept telling us she's fine when she actually wasn't." "What if she's just copying me, she probably just wants attention," I snickered.

"No, she doesn't. I think the two of you need to apologize to each other and start talking again, because can't bare to see one of my daughters getting left out in everything her sisters did."

Maybe she's right, maybe Beth isn't a spoilt brat after all. Maybe... I'm just being selfish...

*Beth's POV*
Since Demi eavesdropped my conversation with Mom, I eavesdropped hers with Mom.

"No, after you came back, you've been hanging out with Maddie and Dallas a lot and leaving Beth crying in the corner! And don't come telling me she's a spoilt brat, because she isn't. She's been skipping meals everyday and kept telling us she's fine when she actually wasn't." Wait, Mom is on MY side? Well, that says something. Wait... she found out about my- no no no I must have heard wrongly.

"No, she doesn't. I think the two of you need to apologize to each other and start talking again, because can't bare to see one of my daughters getting left out in everything her sisters did." Is Demi coming up to apologize? There's no more talking, no more arguing. Maybe, if she is coming to apologize, I would forgive her?

No, don't forgive her, that bitch did-

The voices were blocked out by the sound of knocking on my bedroom door. well, here she comes, I better prepare myself. "Can I come in?" Demi asked, most definitely, nervously. "what do you want?" I asked coldly, not ready to hear her next something. "I need to talk to you," she sighed. "C-come in," damn it Elizabeth, stop with the stuttering. I sat up in my bed as Demi opened the door.

"Look, Beth, I'm really sorry for ignoring you and hating on your annoying ass- or so I thought your ass was annoying... but I'm willing to change that... if you ever get bullied in school-" I cut her off, "Demi, I don't get bullied in school, please, you don't have to worry, and... I forgive you," I smiled. I heard Demi let out a breath she was holding and wrapped her arms around me, "I fucking love you."

"I love you more, Dem," I replied as tears threatened to spill. Now, I have another mission: to hide my secrets from Demi.

I looked up to see Mom smiling at our reunion. Demi looked up and saw her too. "Thanks Mom," I mouthed. "No problem," she winked as she turned around and went downstairs for whatever reason.
