Dinner With The Devils
CROSS

I WAS GREETED by some classical music, honey-rose fragrance in the air and classy ambiance as soon as I entered this Hotel's restaurant. A man immediately greeted me to ask if I have a reservation or something that I quickly answered, under the name of my mother.

The man nodded at me saka iginaya ako sa table na ine-reserve para sa pamilya ko. I am very surprised when everyone is already gathered on the table. Itozz and Yeshua are damn present.

I cursed under my breath.

How come?

That already includes me. But it seems like this dinner is not my usual 'dinner' with them. The table is a 12-seater one that is surely reserved by my mother.

There are still four vacant chairs though and the rest are filled by my family members and... new faces. But before that...

I checked my wrist watch.

6:28 pm.

I touch my face to slightly massage it. After few stokes, there's a sweet smile plastered on my face already. And yeah! I am ready to face them now. May halong kaplastikan nga lang. But who cares?

After all, that's the real purpose of this dinner.

They weren't eating yet (probably because we're still not complete) but flutes of red wines and champagnes are served to them and they seemed to be having fun, talking with one anoher.

I mean... my family and the foreign people with us.

Money is not a problem to us and that makes me surprised to see them... here. Though, this place is good and private because everyone's minding their own businesses, for a family like us... it's still not enough.

"Oh, my unica hija has arrived already!" My father cried out, happily when I approached them. I greeted all of them (aside from the unfamiliar faces) a kiss on the cheek while still wearing my oh-so-fake smile.

My mother also has a smile on her face. A wicked one at that.

While my father is genuinely happy to see me so as my uncle. I earned a lot of complements from the both of them. Meanwhile, Yeshua is bored and ignorant! Then Itozz, well, he just smirked at me and as a reply, I secretly raised my middle finger at him. Of course he's the only one who saw it.

"Cross—sweetheart, let me introduce you to our familly friends; Ronald, Marco and Adeline."

Dad said gesturing each of his acquatance one by one. He stood up after and pulled my seat for me. Ganito naman talaga siya lagi, eh. My father is a real gentleman.

"Everyone, my only daughter—Cross." Dad introduced me. I want to pay no attention to them. I'm not fond of formalities such as this but I have to be decent at least.

Alright.

When suddenly, they bid their goodbye's to us and to joined another table just few meters away from us. Why? Aren't we eating together?
