-------------

Lyra stood there paralyzed, not knowing what to do. People were running around her, but she barely noticed what was happening. Her eyes were fixated on the wave, she almost looked mesmerized. The wave was getting closer by the second, it looked as if it went through all the buildings, not destroying anything in its path. Which made Lyra wonder. Is it really that dangerous?

Suddenly a feeling came over her. Something that didn't make sense. It was telling her to walk towards the wave. Maybe she was going insane? She wondered. It kept telling her to move forward, towards the wave, so she did the last thing she expected and started the first few steps to the wave.

She knew that there were only seconds remaining until the wave was going to hit her. However, she felt a calmness coming over her that she has never felt before. Next, she extended her arm and waited for the moment the wave was going to hit her.

-----

As she was running towards the young woman, she noticed that the young woman lifted up her arm towards the wave as if she was trying to touch it. She quickly sped up, trying to get to her before the wave would hit, hoping she could Apparate them away. I have to go faster, she thought, faster! She was running as fast as she could, but she knew that she wasn't going to make it in time to save her. But still, she kept running. Because she did not want to give up, that is not the person she was.

"You have to get away from it!" The woman tried yelling but it was in vain, the young woman didn't seem to hear her. She was entranced by the wave in front of her.

Almost there, she thought, as she reached for her ready to Apparate them out of there.

But she didn't get to her in time. She expected to see the wave swallow the young woman, right Infront of her, but instead, something magnificent happened. Something that she didn't know how to explain.

When the wave reached the young woman, it exploded into light particles on impact. She looked around her, mesmerized. She extended her arm as she saw the light particles fall down around her. One fell on her extended hand and it lay there. She extended her other hand and touched the little ball of light. On touch, it exploded in even smaller light particles, slowly disappearing into nothingness upon reaching the ground. "That's amazing." She softly whispered to herself, shocked about how they were both still alive. She forced herself out of the shocking state and finished the last steps to get to the young woman. She put her hand on the woman's shoulder. "Are you okay?"

-----

Lyra looked all around her, trying to figure out what just happened. She had expected to be engulfed by the black water, but instead, the dark water became light particles when it came in touch with her hand. Did I manage to do that? She wondered to herself. One moment she felt something coursing through her views, which made her feel so powerful as if she could do anything at that moment. However, the feeling disappeared the moment she touched the wave.

A hand fell on her shoulder, waking her up from her daze. "Are you okay?" She heard someone ask and she looked up into a woman's face. She seemed to be in her late twenties with short brown hair. She had a look of surprise in her eyes as she looked at Lyra. Lyra nodded slowly. She then had a sharp pain in the head and she notice how bad of a headache she had gotten.

"Does your head hurt? Let me help you." She grabbed a flash out of her pocket, unplugged it, and made Lyra smell it. Her headache went away immediately. Her eyes became big. "Yes thank you! That helped a lot." The woman smiled back at her. "I often have a headache myself when I use too much magic. I would be surprised if you didn't have a headache by the amount of magic you just used." The woman winked at her. Magic? Lyra wondered to herself, what is this woman talking about. Before she could ask the woman what she was talking about she saw a man running towards them and he came to a stop in front of them, looking around bewildered. "Merlin's beard. Malinda what happened here?"

The woman who Lyra now knows to be Malinda answered. "I don't even know myself. I only know that she did something about it. It was amazing to see! I have never seen such strong magic before." Malinda turned towards Lyra. "What spell did you use?" Malinda asked Lyra who was still looking at them confused, trying to figure out what is going on. Although, before Lyra could even think about answering them, Malinda interrupted her. "What are my manners, my name is Malinda Evergreen and this is my partner Dean Elms. We're both Aurors of the Ministry of Magic." She extended her hand towards Lyra, which she slowly took. She made it sound like the most logical thing in the world, Lyra thought to herself. Perhaps I hit my head really hard and everything is an illusion?.

"So what's your name?" Malinda asked her. "My name is Lyra Bree Emerson, but -." But before she could finish her sentence she got interrupted again, but this time by Dean. "Do you happen to be a part of the Emory family?" Lyra shook her head, never heard of that name before. Suddenly she remembered something important and looked towards the restaurant they were sitting at. Where is her family? However, before she could finish that thought Dean spoke. "You don't have to worry, the people you were with have already been Apparated away." Before Lyra could ask what he was talking about, Malinda interrupted them. "Dean now that you have reminded me of Emory, she is probably out there fighting Adelram and his supporters at this very moment. We should go and help her, I'm sure she would appreciate it" Dean nodded and waved over some other robed people that just came onto the square. "I will try and find more Aurors and try and find some Muggles that got left behind. When we are done, we will come after you." He looked over towards Lyra. "Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to take her with you. We will try and figure out later, what happened to that wave. But for now, saving the Muggles and helping Emory is the most important." He nodded towards both of them and ran away with the robed people.

"Okay let's go. From the Intel we got, Adelram and Emory are probably in the direction, where the wave came from. But be on alert, because there is a high chance some of his followers are between us and them." Everything was swimming inside Lyra's head. What was she talking about? Adelram? Followers?

"I'm sorry but I don't understand what's going on," Lyra said quickly going after Malinda who already started walking. She turned her head towards Lyra while she kept on walking. "Information has been leaked that Adelram was planning to attack London today. Only, we couldn't figure out what exactly they were planning to do. We could only assume that it was going to be a large-scale spell. This is why we tried to get everyone away when we figured out which exact part they were targeting in London." This wasn't helping Lyra at all, it was only making her more confused.

Lyra grabbed Malinda by the arm, forcing her to stop walking. Malinda looked over at her confused. "Please, you have to believe me when I say. I actually have no clue what you're talking about." Trying to figure out how to explain it the best to her. "Everything you're saying is complete gibberish to me. Magic? Spells? Alderam? I don't even know what I did to that wave!?" Lyra put her hands on her head and started pacing back and forward. Is she going mental?

Malinda reached over and stopped her pacing as she put her hands on her shoulders, looking her straight in the eyes. "Hey-hey, ssshhh, calm down. It's okay. Just take a deep breath, in." Malinda took a deep breath in. "And out," as she breathed out. They did that a couple of times until Lyra had calmed down more. Once she was calm, Lyra explained everything. The reason why she is in London in the first place and the feeling that had come over that made her walk to the wave. Next to that, also told her that she had no clue what they both had been talking about and that she had no idea how she even stopped the wave, saying that probably someone else had done it. Malinda had taken a few steps back during the conversation so that Lyra had the space she needed. In the end, Malinda looked confused and shocked. "Wait, so this means that you've never heard about the existence of Wizardkind?" Lyra nodded, finally relieved that Malinda is now just as confused as she is.
