Mr. Bartholomew Piniwat is a feared man by those who know who he really is. Behind that face that makes people cower and tuck in their tails however, is a very soft heart that cares for his family more than anything and anyone. Especially for his son. Bas.

It broke him when the boy lost the person he held so dear. It was all my fault, the patriarch thought. He had been blaming himself all this time.

"Sweetheart?"

Taking a silent sigh, the man turned around and found his wife standing by the door of his office. He forced a smile as she approached him.

"What did Porche say?" Mrs. Piniwat asked her husband, gently holding his arms on both sides, calming him from his thoughts, distracting him from whatever it was he was mulling over before she came in.

She looked so fragile, sweet, her doe eyes mirror of her son's. That isn't how she really is.

In their household, she was the one who tried to pull the family back together after the tragic incident that took all the brightness from their son's eyes.

Mrs. Sarah Piniwat stood strong for her only child, and for her husband who, even not telling her, has been unable to drown himself in blame. He had taken responsibility over Joss' death.

"Godt will be here tomorrow morning."

Sarah nodded and led her husband to sit down. She assumed that her husband have already informed Louie, she didn't ask any further questions.

"It's gonna be alright, sweetheart. Everything will be..."

Bartholomew sealed his lips shut recalling the days when everything was alright. He longed to see those days again.

"Um, Bas..." Louie was hesitant to tell the young man about the call he received from Bas' father a few minutes  prior. He stood behind Bas' desk, internally fidgeting.

"Spill, Louie. I'm not gonna kill you," Bas responded with a flat tone. The other party nervously chuckled. Bas hasnt joked like that, at least not very often. He knew the younger man didn't mean any by it.

"Remember Dr. Porche's son?"

The clicking from Bas' tongue was loud and clear. Louie prepared himself.

"What about that asshole?" Bas asked without moving from his seat overlooking his window.

"He's going to be your doctor," Louie said quickly then winced, ready to hear his boss' wrath.

He has never seen Godt Itthipat Thanit in a long while but he knew about the never dying displeasure of Bas whenever Godt's name was mentioned. The only consolation he has was that the name isn't mentioned too much but only when Bas' parents are around.

Bas' silence surprised the older guy. He braved the next moments to say the other news. "So um, he'll be here later."

"What time?"

"Later in the morning," Louie answered.

"Time."

"Around four."

"Alright," Bas said before getting up. "Prepare the room next to mine."

"But... The guest room on the-- "

"He's my doctor," Bas hissed as he limply turned around and faced Louie. "He should be right next to mine. Have it prepared."

Louie nodded. "Right away."

Bas left his lights on before he lay on his bed. Godt will be arriving in a few minutes. He had woken up after Louie had left and didn't plan on falling asleep. His lids twitched thinking of his godsibling and his godfather's words when Porche called him earlier.
