(hey to let you guys know i finished this story before I became Aidan's friend. I already wrote to the end. so I'm just publishing it!)

I stopped swinging. was I hearing this correctly? there was silence, I could feel my heart pounding. fast than before. i felt that I couldn't breathe. He stopped swinging too. my throat was getting dry. I can feel it. like the feeling of every inch of your body just frozen.

"i."

I cleared my throat. I needed a second to clear my head. even though I was staring at the ground, I felt aidan's eyes on me. waiting for an answer. I sighed. "yes."

I didn't want to hurt his feelings by saying no. I knew that I liked him too. but those were old feelings. when I was younger. he continue to stare at me. I didn't want to look at him but I did. he smiled. he kept smiling at me. he got off the swing, so I did too.

he then walked towards me. then he stopped when he got close enough to give me a hug. a warm hug. I felt happy, even though butterflies were in my stomach. my heart was skipping a beat. "so are we a thing now?" I questioned him before placing my head on his shoulder as we continued to hug.

"do you want to be?" he said softly, he kept arms on my waist. i felt my face getting hot. the dry lump in my throat quickly went away. I held my breath before talking.

"yes." I mumbled, I broke the hug off and smiled at him. yes. I still liked him. I knew it. he smiled back at me. our faces were almost touching. I could feel my face getting hot again.

"that is cute." aidan murmured, silently. I was caught off guard by this. my eyebrows rose.

he started laughing. I was confused. he stopped laughing. "your blushing." he smiled. his smile some how made me feel relaxed. it felt so calming. I continue to blush. I noticed he was blushing too. "your blushing too." I grinned. I stepped back so I can give him a bit of space.

his face got redder. i laughed. "oh Aidan..." I shook my head. he didn't say anything. he just kept blushing. "remember when we came here when we were little?" I questioned looking around the playground with the cool looking slides.

"yeah. of course." he kept looking at me. but I didn't look at him. I just continued to look at the playground. "when we chased each other around."

I smiled. and then remember the tree we used to hang out and have picnics. "the tree!" I pointed at the big tree near the benches. he then looked at the tree.

"oh right!" he grinned. I ran towards the tree without saying anything. Aidan followed behind me. it felt like old times. like we were chasing each other again. when we went on slides and climbed around the money bars.

I kept smiling. I was so happy. he was here. everything seemed perfect. I then stopped when I reached the shade. I turned to look at Aidan who was running after me. I just smiled.

"I miss the picnics." he glanced at me and I nodded my head. I too did miss the picnics. they were fun. one time we had whipped cream and strawberries together.

"me too." i looked at the tree, it was still green as I last saw it. i felt something touch my hand. I stared down to see Aidan's hand with mine. I just left it there.

"we should have a picnic some time again." he replied. I turned to look at him. I scoffed. "trying to ask me on a date Aidan?" I smirked. his eyes turned wide for a moment. it was funny.

he started to stutter. "maybe..? if you want to..." he trailed off slowly. I started chucking.

"sure."

he smiled. "then it's a date." I could tell he was happy and excited. I repeated those words in my head.

"it's a date." i said out loud. I couldn't wait for this to happen. it was like a blissful dream.
