THE town looks old. Like, 1800's old. Something I would see in a Harry Potter book. Though I've never read the Harry Potter series...I just think it would be like that...

I am still not getting used to Merricrest. That's the name of the town. It's an old abandoned town that a hiker discovered about 20 years ago. His name was William Bengens, if I recall.

"Samantha! Time for breakfast!" Mother enters my room and tells me.

I walk down the creaking wood stairs and finally step on the tattered, aged carpet. I see eggs, milk, and bacon layed on chipped light blue plates on the table.

 "Thank you, Mother." I voice.

"No problem, honey." She responds and kisses me on the forehead.

"Now, I have to go to work. You know what to do, Samantha. Eat breakfast, get ready, be by the bus stop exactly at 7:30, I don't want what happened at your last school. I don't want anymore phone calls from the school asking why you're tardy. Oh, and also, don't wear anything flashy, those Justice clothes don't really work well here, and make sure to clean your room, your bed. And one last thing..clean the dishes! And you want to -" She rambles on and on about everything I need to do.

"Okay, Mother!" I interrupt her. Luckily, she's in too much of a hurry to bother lecturing me about my interruption.

"Bye, sweetheart!" She waves to me as she walks to the door.  I continue eating my eggs that are now cold. I lay the dishes by the sink. Wait..did she tell me to clean it? Naw, who cares. I walk up to my bedroom and get ready.
