Awakening to the pleasant smell of freshly cooked pancakes, Chenle pandiculated in bed before he decided to roll out, trudging his way into his bathroom to brush his teeth along with taking a quick shower. Once he was finished and dressed into a comfy attire, he made his way out of his room and down the stairs, adding a few skips into his steps. He was met with the sight of Jisung standing by the stove of his kitchen, flipping a pancake, unaware of his presence.
"That smells good," he spoke out, smiling when seeing the younger flinch.
The spatula Jisung was holding, dropped out of his hand and onto the stove. He quickly reached out to grab it again, but instead, he accidentally pressed his fingers onto the hot frypan beside it, making him sound out a painful yelp. He retracted his hand and shook it in the air to relieve himself of the burn.
"Idiot," Chenle chuckled, walking over to the sink while pulling Jisung along with him. He ran the tap cold and held Jisung's hand under it, reducing the chance of any burn blisters forming on his skin. "You need to be more careful, Ji."
Jisung kept silent as Chenle continued to aid his hand. Today was the day Jisung planned on asking Chenle out. He spent all night thinking of the many possible activities Chenle would enjoy that they could partake in together, and he ended up deciding on a simple picnic date. He had everything set up and ready for the afternoon; now, all he needed to do was shoot the question.
"Go out with me?"
Freezing at the blurt of words, Chenle lifted his eyes to meet with Jisung's, halting his actions altogether. Jisung looked just as shocked by his own words.
"I-I mean, only if you want to. If not, that's cool. I'll just go cry in the corner over there and wallow in my own self-pity—"
"Okay."
Jisung zipped his lips in a thin line, not knowing if he heard Chenle correctly. "Okay, you'll go out with me? or... okay, go cry in the corner."
Chenle laughed at Jisung while turning the tap off. "Okay, I'll go out with you," he specified, earning a wide grin from the tallboy beside him.
A celebratory song played inside Jisung's head as he tried to refrain himself from acting like a fool in front of Chenle. "Good... that's.. wow. I never thought I'd get this far," he voiced out, evoking, yet again, another laugh.
"Where're you planning on taking me?" Chenle asked as he walked past Jisung and towards the stove, where a pancake was sadly being burnt to a crisp—neglected due to Jisung's clumsiness. He turned off the stove and chucked what once was a perfectly golden pancake into the food waste bin, then turned his attention back to the boy, who was practically vibrating on the spot—exceptionally happy.
"That's for me to know and for you to find out." Jisung winked, his words reminding Chenle of their time spent in the ice cream parlor.
"Please tell me there won't be any blindfolds involved this time."
