Wishes and Parties

Jess's POV

We walked into my house and Liam put my cake on the table. 

"Hey mom. I need to show you something!" I shouted.

"What is it sweety?" she asked as she walked from the living room to the kitchen.  When she looked up she looked speachless. 

"Oh my goodness! Liam!" she said when she could speak.

"Liam's here David!" she hollered to the living room.  My step dad David appeared from the living room.  He had regular jeans and a plaid shirt.  His face looked like it was recently shaved, which was good.  I hated the moustache he had reluctantly worn for god knows how long.  His blonde hair was begining to get too long.  Oy, I swear that man had to be told to do everything.  You don't even know how many times I'd asked him to shave that moustache.

"Woah," he began,"Liam Payne."

"The great Liam Payne has returned." said Liam and everyone laughed. 

"Ooooh and he brought cake." said David.

"Ya know sometime this weekend I might mistake you for Niall." said Liam and again as usual, everybody laughed.  It was true, they both had blonde hair and ate a ton of food but didn't show it through their body features. 

Liam reached into his pocket and grabbed a candle that said 18 on it and some matches.  He placed the candle on the birthday cake and lit the candle.

"Niall." he said and Niall swung his guitar around and began playing.

"Happy Birthday to you," he began and then everyone else joined in,"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday dear Jess, happy birthday to you."

"Make a wish." said Liam.

I made a wish alright.

"Just a little farther." Spoke Liam as he held his hands over my eyes.

"I feel like we've walked a full block already!" I said.

"Did you know you have really pretty hair?" he asked.  My hair is actually one of my best features.  It's long, wavy, and dirty blonde.

"Hey don't try and change the subject! Where are we going?"

"Somewhere you've been many times."

"Alright, I'm not walking any farther." I said stopping in my tracks which caused Liam to bump into me. 

"Good, because we're already there." he said as he removed his hands.  We were at his old house, but that wasn't even the surprising part.  There was a huge party going on inside and there was a huge banner by the front door that read" Happy Birthday Jess!"

"Nuh-uh." I said barely breathing.

"Yeah-huh" he said and I laughed.

I looked in his eyes and said,"You are the best friend ever."  Liam looked like he wanted to say something but he didn't.

"Come on the party's started!" shouted Liam's mom.

Nialls POV

"Happy Birthday!" shouted everyone as Liam and Jess walked in.  Liam and Jess weren't holding hands, they weren't kissing, and his arm wasn't around her.  I sighed a sigh of relief.  If they were together he would have been doing one of those by now.  He liked to get cozy with girls.

"Hey bro," began Liam and he sat next to me while Jess greeted more people,"I tryed asking her out out there, but chickened out.  What do I do?"  I thought about it. 

"Uhhh." I said not knowing what to say. 

"Should I phone Louis?"

"Maybe you should give it time." I said.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"Well, maybe you should give her more time to hang with you before you ask her out."

"Hmm, you might be right about that," He said looking at her as she hugged and shook hands with people,"Thanks dude." he patted me on the back and walked away.  I sighed. and sat at a table alone for a few minutes. 

"Hey Niall." said someone behind me.

"Hey Jess!"

"I just wanted to thank you soooo much for coming with Liam here.  It means so much to me." I looked into her hazel eyes and instantly melted.

"Oh, it, it was nothing."

"Well, it meant alot to me."

"Would you uhh, like some food?" I asked.  Frankly, I just wanted food, but I also didn't know what else to say.

"Sure what is there?" she asked.

"Looks like there's pizza, nachos, potato chips, hot dogs, hamburgers, onion rings, and salad right over there." I said pointing in the direction of a table with just about every party snack ever on it.

"Cool let's go." she said.

I followed her to the table and grabbed a hamburger, a hotdog, onion rings, nachos, and some potato chips.

"They weren't kidding when they said you like food." she said observing my two plates of food.

"Yup." I said while patting my belly and she laughed.

"Mmmm food." said Liam as he walked over to us and he grabbed a slice of pizza.  My alone time with Jess was officially over.  It was still a pretty good party though.
