Elizabeth was correct. The job was perfect. The only thing that was wrong was my father. He was the only obstacle standing between me and that job.
"So what are you going to tell your dad?".
"I really don't know. I just-" I was clueless. I knew there was no way in hell that my dad would let me apply for this job.
"Sooner or later you're going to have to tell him Kay". She was right.
"I'll tell him tonight. The worst he can do is say no,right?"
She smiled nervously at me. We sat there until Lizzy had to leave. We said our goodbyes,telling each other to be safe.
When dinner time came around, I was nervous. Who knows how he'll react.
As we sat around the dining table , everyone was silent. My big sister Christy kept looking at me weirdly but I didn't think much of it. It became unbearable an so I decided to break it
"Dad?"
He only hummed in reply
"I was uh looking for a job and I found one and before you say anything, its a perfect job. It fits my standards hell,it fits even your standards" I was blabbering. I just wanted him to listen.
"Kayla,we've had this conversation before. The only way your working is if its for me" This stubborn ass man
"But dad i don't wanna work for you,can't you understand that. I'm a big girl now. I don't want to depend on you anymore. I'm old enough to make My own decisions. You've control me enough. I can't take it anymore!" . Everyone had stopped eating and were looking at me as if I were mad. Maybe i was. Only a mad person would dare to raise their voice at my dad.
When I looked at my dad,i was silent. You know those parts in Scooby Doo when shaggy eats a
Pepper and smoke comes out his ear, that's how my father looked.
He stood with so much force that the chair collapsed.
"How dare you raise your voice at me. I am your father and whatever I say goes. You don't want to work for me? Fine. But you will not work for anyone else. In fact you will do something even better. You're getting married"
"Wait,WHAT?!"
I know this chapter was short but I kinda need you guys to understand my situation. The other chapters will be LONGER and BETTER.
