Percy slammed the door shut as he slid down the door in his room. He repeated the word 'no' all over in his head like a broken recorded tape.
He was so sure that he would never have the one, but here he was. When he awoke from his temporary unconsciousness, he heard one word that tipped his whole world upside down. He needed to calm down before he starts hyperventilating.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Cinnamon and rose scent laced his cloak as he pulled it close to himself. What was he going to do now? He sighed as he stared up at the ceiling. He was usually very careful when his heat came. He cursed himself for being so stupid.
"Percy?"
He widened his eyes and stumbled to his bed. He flopped onto it just as Poseidon walked in. The older man exhaled through his breath as he walked towards his son. Percy sat up and stared at his father emotionlessly.
"It is short notice but there will be a ball for all the princes out there in two days," he said. Percy rolled his eyes internally.
"You're an Omega."
It wasn't a question but a statement. Percy glanced out to the balcony not confirming or denying it. He knew what happened to all the Omegas out there in the world. They were used as slaves just because of their ranks. It wasn't fair.
Suddenly, he felt a pair of arms wrap around him. Confusion ran through him but he relaxed slightly. "No one will harm you, I promise that," Poseidon said and smiled warmly. Percy felt the prick of tears as he hugged his father tightly.
He didn't need to say anything for the king to understand him. He was afraid of what his family would think of him if he did tell them. But Percy was forgetting one thing, Atlantis wasn't like the other kingdoms in the world. It was a safe place for Omegas as they were never forced to be slaves.
Percy allowed a small smile to appear as he relaxed in his father's embrace. "Thanks," he mumbled.
They pulled away and Poseidon said, "Now about the ball."
Percy groaned and fell back down onto the bed.

Percy has danced with so many people that he felt his legs were going to fall off soon. This particular one, Apollo kept flirting with him. He had managed to dodged a couple of close calls.
He was sipping his champagne when suddenly the familiar scent hit him. Percy's eyes fleeted across the room and he spotted him. The other seemed to spot him too as he walked towards him. Percy sucked in a breath and slipped away before the other could reach him. Thinking that he lost him, he walked into the palace garden.
He was a prince too? Seriously?
Percy buried his head in his hands forgetting his crown was on his head. The heavy accessory fell off his head and he panicked. But it didn't fall to the crown as someone caught it. He glanced up through his eyelashes and saw Luke.
"Thanks." Their fingers brushing as Luke handed him his crown. Sparks went from his fingers to his whole body making his whole body tingle with a strange pleasure.
He placed the heavy object on his head and stared up at the other. "Why'd you lie?" Luke asked genuinely curious.
Percy grew red from embarrassment as he fidgeted with the bracelet on his wrist. "I didn't think I'll ever find the one and I assumed you'd reject me," he muttered quietly.
Luke lifted the other's chin up and a soft smile graced his face. "And why would I do that?" He asked. Percy blushed increasing the amount of redness in his face.
They talked and laughed as they sat on the swing in the garden. The wind blowing through their hair as their laughter was carried away with the wind. Luke loved hearing the Omega's laughter. It was so precious and beautiful.
Everything about him was perfect. Who would want to reject him?
Amphitrite was walking in the hallway when she heard laughter. She peeked at the opened door and smiled as she watched her stepson talk with one of the many princes. She left smiling happily to herself.
When Percy returned to the ballroom, he was swept away from Luke, much to his displease. The Alpha growled when one of them placed a hand on his Omega's shoulder. He gripped the glass champagne too hard and it shattered. Not that anyone noticed.
Except for Percy.
The Omega whipped his head and stared at the Alpha worriedly. He walked towards him and gripped his hand. "What happened?" Luke glared at the others when he caught them staring at the second prince.
"Those idiots happened," he gritted through his teeth. Percy glanced at his direction and rolled his eyes.
"Don't be such a jealous freak," he said lightly. Luke huffed before circling his arm around his Omega's waist. His Omega. That sounds good. He growled as the others eyed him suspiciously.
Percy blushed as he relaxed in his embrace. The low growl coming from the Alpha caused him to shudder. "Can we get out of here?" He asked lowly hating the looks directed towards his prince.
Percy raised an eyebrow at him. "You do know this is my 'choosing' right?"
Luke huffed. "But you already did," he whined and buried his head in the other's neck nuzzling it. Percy smiled as he felt the other's hot breath against his neck.
"Just wait another hour or so," he said. Luke pouted but agreed nonetheless.
Turns out they didn't need to wait another hour for them to leave. Someone got drunk and grabbed the Omega halfway. Percy yelped and was slammed against the wall. He tried to wrench free but the Alpha was stronger than him.
He saw the drunken grin on his face as he leaned towards the assassin. His hot breath leaving a trail on his neck and towards his lips. He whipped his head to the side and the other ended up kissing his cheek. "You little twerp," he slurred before holding his wrists tightly. Percy twisted and turned but to no avail.
He felt hand travel up his thigh and fear was present in the back of his mind. Just before he could do anything more, he was flung to the other side of the room. Percy collapsed in his Alpha's arms as he whimpered fearfully. Luke held him close as he snarled at the others. He felt the Omega tremble in his arms and he glared terrifyingly at the person who was flung across the room.
"Who the hell are you?" The drunken prince shouted slurred.
"His Alpha," he barked back. Everyone else widened their eyes and backed away a little. Percy shut his eyes tightly as his fear crept into his heart.
Guards came running in as the royal family rushed in. They spotted their prince in the arms of someone and saw another who was banged up. Poseidon's eyes hardened as he barked at them to leave. Everyone scrammed out of the ballroom.
Luke placed an arm underneath his knees the other behind his back and lifted him up. The three royalties rushed towards them and stared worriedly at the youngest prince. "Some idiot tried to take advantage of Perseus," Luke said a growl behind the sentence. Poseidon nodded his head before gesturing for the guards to lock the drunken man in his room.
"Bring him back to his room, Luke," Amphitrite said calmly. The son of Hermes nodded his head before walking away carrying the prince.
The queen of Atlantis held her husband's arm just as he was about to follow them. "No. Let him do it. They're bonded," she said and smiled sadly. They watched as his retreating figure disappeared in the hallway darkness.
