Michael Hastings is a renowned senator from 19th district. Born on October 6, 1980, in Oakland, Hastings is a Democrat from Illinois. He earned his graduation in Science from West Point in 2003 and later on was commissioned in the US Army where he served in Iraq as a responsible post of Captain. The senator also earned his master's from the University of Illinois in business administration and a doctorate degree from Chicago's John Marshall Law School.

Michael Hastings has contributed immensely in the pension reform bill. He supported the plan created by the University of Illinois Institute for Government and Public Affairs. Hastings also supported the senate Bill 20, which calls for the dedicated funding to build a new airport in Peotone which will not only make the transportation easy but also boost the job opportunities in the area.
Senator Michael Hastings also worked in the direction to get the plan of 30-bedded psychiatric hospital approved. The hospital in Tinley Park will be more focused on children and adolescents who are in need of inpatient treatment. The hospital will be built on the 40,000 square feet building located in Prosperi Drive. As currently there are limited beds in the local hospitals for the kids needing mental health care, the 30-bedded psychiatric hospital will present a real solution to the problem faced by the community.

Michael Hastings Tinley Park is also pushing the state police department to use the vacant building of the Lincoln-Way North High School Campus situated in Frankfort. The building is 11 years old and is most suited to build a crime lab. It will create many job opportunities which will lead to the overall economic development of the area. The school building is vacant since 2016 and the property can be used by the police department.

Hastings is well trained in life-saving combat, which made him help Mike when he was choking. The boldness, kindness and dedication that Senator Hastings has is hard to find these days.
