A/N: This a short story. But it's still sweet. Sorry, I'm doing a lot of stories on these two, I just love this pairing so much. They're just too cute. This one is about Yumeko's sister who is currently hospitalized. So I will bring out a few uncharacteristic parts for the pair, but I hope you enjoy anyways. Disclaimer: If you have any negative or depressing thoughts, please, read at your own risk. It's not too bad but it does have the topic of suicide in it. Please don't ever do this. There's always help, whether you accept it or not.

Anyways... to the story.

"Hey, Yumeko?" Ryota called, trying to catch up to the dark-haired. She turned with a small smile on her face.

"Yes, Ryota? Is there something you need?" Her voice isn't as pure as it always is, something must be up. But Ryota brushed it off. But he was also trying to catch his breath, luckily Mary was there.

"There are some games going on, wanna go check them out?" Yumeko thought for a bit before giving her answer.

"Sorry, I'm gonna have to pass. I have some things to attend to, maybe next time." The answer shocked both of them. Whether she had things to do or not, she always wanted to go gamble, or check out a few games. Ryota and Mary looked at each other then back at Yumeko, but she was off, walking down the hallway.

"Alright, something is not right, Imma follow her, head to the gaming room, I'll be there with Yume soon," Mary called out. That was a nickname Mary gave Yumeko a few days before they started dating. It slipped out, and Yumeko liked the nickname, so Mary has called her that since. Ryota nodded and went off. Mary waled off in the direction Yumeko went.

Mary peeked over the corner to see Yumeko open a door that has a staircase that leads to the rooftop. I thought no one was allowed up there? Mary thought but continued to follow her quietly up the staircase. When she reached the top, she peered over to Yumeko, who was leaning on the rail looking out in the distance. It technically was after school, so the sun was ready to go down. The orange glow of the sunset on Yumeko's face took Mary's breath away. Damn, that sunset makes her look so pretty a blush slowly forms on her face as she approaches Yumeko. "Hey, Yume." Yumeko jumps a bit, before turning to Mary. And Mary's eyes widen, as a sad smile was plastered on Yumeko's face, while she could also see tears starting to form. She's never seen Yumeko cry, not even when we go see depressing movies. Mary's first instinct was to wrap her arms around her. "Hey, hey, what's wrong?" Yumeko let out a sad laugh and let go of Mary.

"I guess you're not used to seeing me like this, huh? I was going to say it's nothing, but you wouldn't believe me," Yumeko said, as the tears are threatening to fall.

"Of course I wouldn't believe you, idiot, you're hurt, what's wrong?'' Mary cupped her face so... lovingly, so unlike Mary, but her protective instinct kicked in.

"Aww, Mary you actually care," Yumeko teased. Mary, annoyed, pushed her face.

"Of course I am! What kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn't, idiot." Yumeko just laughed more, the tears were now gone. Yumeko took a deep breath to try to compose herself.

"Did I ever tell you I have a sister?" Mary looked at her puzzled. Yume has a sister? She shook her head. Yumeko stared at the ground, the sad look coming back. "Well, she's currently hospitalized for sanity reasons, and trying to pay for the bills has been... difficult. And I guess she overheard it, cuz she well... tried to take her life." Mary stood shocked. She's trying to process all of the new information, but why though? Mary looked at Yumeko and saw the tears come again. She acted fast, Mary cupped her face and kissed the tears off, Yumeko smiled slightly and embraced Mary again.

"Do you know why she would do that?" Mary asked. Yumeko shook her head but then tried to give her the best estimate.

"Maybe because she didn't want us to suffer anymore, and she doesn't want to suffer anymore either." The tears kept coming and coming, and Mary did her best to comfort her by rubbing her back. She heard that was the best method to keep people calm, but it never works for her. But it seems to work for Yumeko, she sighs and is trying to control her breathing. She pulls back again and looks at Mary. "Mary?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I have a kiss?" Mary blushed a bit before nodding and leaning in. Their lips met and instantly Mary tasted the salty tears that stained her face. The kiss was only for comfort, no passion, no heat or lust, just to comfort her. Mary could tell she needed this. They stayed like that for a bit, before they both pulled away for air. Mary's face is slightly flushed, but she didn't mind. Yumeko leaned her forehead on Mary's as the tried to regain their breaths. "You going to be ok?'' Yumeko nodded and gave Mary another small kiss before finally letting her go.

"I love you, Mary-san, I'll always will. You know that right?" Mary laughed a bit before nodding.

"I love you too, Yume. I will as well, now I know what will always cheer you up."

"And that is?" Yumeko asked smirking a bit. Mary leaned in close. "How about a little game?" Yumeko gave her one more kiss before they headed to the gambling lounge in the school.

A/N: Hope you enjoyed this short story, and again please, if by any chance you're thinking about ending it all, please don't. I know life is rough, but there will always be someone to help and comfort you. Please seek help. Or maybe help a friend.
