The Lost Descendant: Found

Chapter 9

Bella's P.O.V

When Harry and I got back to the other's at Evie's cottage, they began to talk about the problem with Audrey.

"Okay, so we all think that Audrey is possibly at Fairy Cottage. We have no idea where it is," Mal said.

"Did your mom ever take you there?" Carlos asked Jane. 

Jane replied, "Every Fairy Godmother's Day. I wish I knew where she was."

I stepped in hearing their conversation, "I know where it is. That's where Audrey and I both were hiding out. I can show you the way, if you want." Mal nodded in agreement. I noticed Carlos spoke up but he was talking to Jane and pulled her to the side. I noticed him giving her a birthday gift which happened to be a necklace of their ship name. That's sweet of him.

Harry pulled me out of my thoughts. "What're you thinking about, love?" he asked then noticed where I was looking. "Ah, they're cute, love. But not as cute as us."

I looked at him, "Harry, we've never really done anything cute with each other except flirt. Like I said before, things always got in the way."

"And like I said, you won't have to worry about that anymore, now that Mal plans on opening the barrier for good." I sent him a small smile and nodded.

"Alright guys, Fairy Godmother could help in this situation. Jane you need to go find her while Bella shows us the way to Fairy Cottage. Doug can you go with her?" Mal came over and spoke.

"They might need some muscle too," Ben said. 

"I can go with them," Gil said.

"I would feel better with that," Doug and Carlos added.

After Jane and the others went off on their own, the rest of us headed over to Fairy Cottage. I was leading the way and made sure to squat down to make sure it was safe before entering. I scanned the area then nodded that we could move forward. We got to the door and quickly pushed it open. 

Audrey was no where to be found on the first floor so Jay ran up the stairs to the second floor. He soon came back down and said that the cottage was clear. All of a sudden we heard a noise coming from a door near us. Everyone slowly made their way towards it. Then I realized, I know that sound. I walked up and opened the door.

"I forgot about Chad being here," I shrugged.

Chad was curled up and saying how he wanted his mommy, which I couldn't help but try to stifle a laugh.

"Chad?" Ben spoke. Chad looked up and stood up fast. 

"Ben. Ben!" He grabbed a hold of my brother and pet his face. "Your face." Ben just nodded. Chad looked around, "She's gone?" Then he saw me and screamed like a girl. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Chad, it's fine. She's not with Audrey anymore," Ben tried to calm him.

Chad then spoke, "The door is open. I'm free." He proceeded to run out of the front door screaming "freedom." Me and Harry couldn't help but laugh at him. 

We all finally decided to turn back and leave Fairy Cottage. "Let's take care of this Audrey chick already," Uma spoke. "What do you guys say? Time to wrap things up?"

Ben looked at Mal and Uma, "You know, someday you're gonna have to tell me how you guys all got teamed up."

"Actually, Mal promised to let all the kids off the Isle when this is all over," Uma spoke.

Ben looked over at Mal questioningly, "Mal?"

I looked over at Mal as she looked at me. "Are you serious or are you going to go through with your original plan?" I asked.

Everyone looked at Mal. "What is Bella talking about, Mal? What original plan?" Evie asked curiously. Mal looked at them and then down at the ground.

"I have to tell you guys something. Um.." she hesitated. "I lied to you. The kids on the Isle, they won't be coming off. The program is shut down, and the barrier will be closed for good. For Auradon's safety."

Everyone looked at her in disbelief. "Hold up," Uma spoke. "We're saving the people of your precious Auradon for a lie?" She scoffed. "I knew it was a mistake to trust you. You're always looking out for yourself." She shook her head and looked away.

Harry then spoke up, diverting my attention to him. "And you, King Benny.." he said mockingly, then quietly said the last part sadly. "You're probably just gonna throw us all back inside there." That broke my heart. I looked over at Ben, seeing he didn't know what to do about the situation. Then Celia spoke up.

"You know what? I thought you were brave. But you're not. Too scared to tell me that I was never going to see my dad again." She ran up to Mal and snatched the ember from her hand, tossing it into the little bird fountain. Mal was yelling "No!"

"Regain your might and ignite. Come on! Regain your might and ignite," she tried to spell the ember to work again.

"Bummer," Uma said. "Come on, Harry. Let's find Gil and let them rot." My eyes widened a bit as I looked at Harry. He was looking right back at me with sad eyes. I gave him a pleading look, but it didn't work.

"Sorry, love." With that he walked off, Mal and I trying to call out to both of them. Mal finally looked away and looked at Evie.

"Evie. I'm so sorry. So sorry. I just thought- I was afraid to tell you. I thought I would've lost my best friend. But I had to do something to protect Auradon."

"Closing the barrier was your idea?" Evie asked, completely devastated. I sighed and walked over to my brother, hugging him tight as I saw the sad look on everyone's face and listened to Evie and Mal.

"I'm sorry! I did it for us, for the life that we have here now."

"For our life? What about the kids that don't have a life here? That we left behind? We promised them. We were their only hope for a better life. I thought you were going to stand up for the V.K's. But you lied to them, and to Jay, Carlos, and me. We're your family, Mal." 

"Evie. Evie come on. I had no choice!" All of a sudden we were hit with a cloud of smoke from magic being used. I looked up at Ben and saw he was turned to stone.

"Ben? Ben!" I looked around and saw everyone else turned to stone as well, except for Mal.

"No.." Mal muttered.

A/N: Finally back! I am so sorry for being so long. We had complications while moving but we are finally moved in and I am mostly settled. I just hooked my computer up today so now I can write. I'm really sorry for the long wait, but here is finally the next chapter and it is a little longer than usual. Hope you all enjoy. If I don't update before it, have a Merry Christmas. Love you guys!
