He sighed as he took the rash decision to just wrap his arms around the small girl and lay his head above hers. He knew she just wanted the warmth and the comforting of somebody older than her. He also knew that she meant nothing by it and that this was just an innocent gesture. He had no idea why he held a girl that he didn't even know in his arms, yet he knew that they would grow to be very close friends.

---------------

He woke up to to girls small hands clutching his white cotton shirt, her long hair was sprawled out on the pillows as her eyelashes kissed her cheeks. The grey shirt she wore hiked up her thighs as it oddly suited her. He slowly slipped out of bed, keeping a trained eye on her. She was just so beautiful in every way. The duvet was on the side, exposing her small figure completely. He chuckled lightly at the heavy sleeper and pulled the cover over her as she hummed in appreciation. He wondered what her story was and why fate put her on that same bus as him.

As he ruffled his hair and grabbed a towel, he entered the bathroom and pulled the shower curtain while getting into the shower. As the warm droplets fell across his body, he ran his hand through his curls under the steaming liquid and sighed. The girl that laid in his bed occupied his thoughts so much that he couldn't think straight.

"Do you know where the toothpaste is?" A voice startled him as he clutched the shower curtain to his body. His eyes wandered to the small girl with tousled hair wearing his gray shirt. Her eyes blinked at him expectantly, didn't
she know he was taking a shower? Why was she so comfortable with him being right there in the shower?

"T-To the right of the sink." He stuttered as he watched her tiny body glide to the sink and pour toothpaste into her mouth and swiveling it in her mouth.

"Thanks." She simply said before walking out, letting him shower in peace. What a weird little girl.

He walked out into the living room to find her munching on a chocolate pop tart that was supposedly in his secret stash.

"Good Morning, Harry." She quipped cheerfully. He was puzzled on how comfortable she was with him with only knowing him for a couple of hours and how gullible she was into trusting him, which meant she was like this with other strangers, but he wasn't a stranger anymore.

"Morning Gray." He gave her a queasy smile before they sat in silence.

"So how long have you had a girlfriend?" She inquired while cheekily sticking her tongue out which he found utterly adorable.

"A couple of years, our anniversary is today actually." She perked up her ears at that statement and hopped up and ran to him.

"What will you do for her?" She beamed up at him.

"Dinner and a cake, I guess." He shrugged as his diverted from her radiating smile. She gave a giggle and nodded goofily.

"I'll help you make a cake for her!" She grinned and dashed to the kitchen. He loved how lively she made the house.

She had such a eunoia. She was in a perfect state of clear mind.

She hopped up and sat on the granite counter pulling out random ingredients from the cupboards.

"We're baking a vanilla cake!" She squealed happily. He looked at her in adoration as she poured oil into a baking pan, she was absolutely perfect.

"Stop being a creeper and start mixing the ingredients! Chop chop!" She demanded, snapping her fingers. He chuckled at her command and shook his head before breaking eggs into a bowl. He started mixing with a spatula before she grabbed a handful of flour and chucked it at his face. Her mouth an 'o' as her face masked fake shock as he tensed up and stood still. His face and hair were completely covered in the white dust like substance.

"You did not." He growled playfully, before forming claws with his hands and running after her as she squealed happily and ran around the house. He pounced on her, the flour shaking all over her and the couch they landed on. He attacked her with his hands on her stomach, wiggling his fingers causing her to laugh hysterically.

"I surrender, Harry!" Tears formed in her eyes as giggles erupted from her lips. He stared down at her, her large doe eyes peering at him under her long flour coated eyelashes, her face flushed and turned a rosy red. He lowered his hand to brush his thumb against her soft cheek. He wished he could freeze this moment in a frame and stay like this forever.

---------------

"It looks really good." She stood on her tiptoes to get a good view of vanilla cake.

"Yeah it does. She should be here any minute now." He murmured nervously as he glanced at his watch. He was nervous not because his girlfriend was coming, but because it meant he was actually taken.

"Do you want me to go inside? So I don't bother you guys." She asked slowly. This was the first time he ever heard any emotion in her voice, the first time he actually heard her use different octaves to form a question, and he liked it.

"No, you can do whatever you want." He replied sincerely, setting the table neatly. He was obviously distracted as he didn't notice that she disappeared to change into her previous clothes. She grabbed her phone and all her gatherings and walked towards the door.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" Harry franticly asked as he grabbed her small shoulder to flip her around.

"I'm going to go on a walk." She stated obviously. A walk? With all her stuff? Was this a goodbye?

"W-Why?" Harry said confusingly as his voice held pure hurt. It was weird that he had already grown attached to the girl he barely knew. What if she was going to leave him? Maybe this was just a ploy to get away from him, he didn't need her to leave. He didn't want her to leave.

"I dunno. I'll give you guys some space, I mean it's your anniversary after all. I'll just take a few rounds around the area to warm up to it before it starts raining, kay?"

This was the longest sentence she ever said to him and he barely registered what she said, rather focusing on her angelic, airy voice.

"Be careful, and come back soon." He bit his lip worriedly. He didn't like the thought of he alone outside, where she was in the clear grasp of evil.

"Bye!" She stood on her tiptoes and gave him a side hug before flinging the front door open and skipping away.

He didn't want her to be alone out there. And in all honesty, he would've rather canceled the dinner to be with her. To protect her.
