"Tell me something."

"Hm?"

"Why'd you run away."

"Because I wanted too."

"You can trust me, Gray."

"Esther. Call me Esther."

"Just Esther?"

"Mhm."

"Alright, darling."

His eyes were closed as his face was buried in her hair. Her short stature making her wrap around his torso. Another thing he loved. His large hand was weaved into her locks of hair, his fingers getting tangled with them, the slots between them getting filled with the thick hair.

He untangled himself and knelt down, his hands on her small shoulders. His eyes twinkled as he poured his heart and soul into her. His iridescent green orbs filled with benevolence.

"Come on. I wanna show you something."

"What is it?"

"A surprise."

She mimped at him and and crossed her arms and shook her head. He couldn't help but smile at her adorableness.

"Come on. I got you clothes to wear, come see them."

She timidly followed him to the now empty living room, various open boxes filled to the brim with clothes that looked rather dusty sat on the floor. She gasped at the quantity, this could fill a whole wardrobe. She closed her eyes and shook her head, now she would have the everlasting feeling that she had to repay him. Another emotion she didn't want to pursue. He indulged in her, he was attached. That meant that she had to stay.

She circled around the boxes and wondered why he put so much effort into her. Into a girl he barely knew. Into a girl so much younger than him. Into a girl that ran away. She also wondered how he got so much clothes especially since they didn't look necessarily new.

"You'll look lovely in each and every one of them, babygirl." He reassured her and hugged her once more. He was addicted to them, addicted to her scent and how her bony arms wrapped around him, addicted to how she nuzzled her nose into the cotton of his shirt and how her forehead was always pressed to his chest. Addictions were compelling.

"We are going to dinner." Harry all a sudden mumbled, his voice failing to be demanding.

"Huh? With Zayn?"

"No. Just us." He gave a smile to soften the answer as she shrugged nonchalantly. She was selectively given a pale blue baby doll dress with a simple design along with some grey platforms. She looked drastically younger yet older.

Affection.

A gentle feeling of fondness or liking, a sense of endearment, was what she felt as his eyes laid on her for the hundredth time that day. It was a sentimental rhapsody that she felt when he did so.

He really cared about the little girl before him and oh how long she waited for someone to care. She exhaled slowly, her eyelids hugging her pupils, her pink lips parted slightly. She felt his cosy hand at the side of her face causing her to look into the coruscating greens of deep malachite. And suddenly she felt off, she went back to her old self. Her cheeks drained, her upward smile tainting itself and her posture slouched.

His fingers found their way into the slots between hers as he tugged on them.

"Let's go, Esther." Her name felt so utterly airy coming from his lips that it was almost insubstantial hearing it. She was not satisfied.
