This couldn’t be happening right? A crazy, deranged, and extremely old lady running at us like an Olympic runner, that sounds crazy! Sure enough, I got my hint that we weren’t dreaming when she went for Sam. My heart was racing so fast, it might as well fly out of my chest. She came close enough and grabbed Sam, slamming him against the wall we were backed upon.
“Don’t worry young one. I will make this quick!” The old lady said putting her knife-nails on his neck. My eyes were closed as I repeatedly told myself that this was just a dream. I glanced up at the old lady and noticed something peculiar about Sam, his skin was a light blue, his eyes were completely whitened out, and sparks were coming out of his hand. I glanced another look at the lady who was looking quite confused. She glared at me and began to spout some nonsense in another language. She looked at me like I was planning all of this, and that I knew what was going on. When she turned back to look at Sam, she gained a look of fear. In a second Sam blew up, causing the lady to disappear, and throwing Gary across the street knocking him out. Honestly, it was kind of awesome. Sam looked happy, but then grew a grim look when other people approached the alleyway.
“Did you see that!” One bystander said.
“That kid just sprouted lightning from his hands!” A few others whispered. Sam immediately got up and ran out, me right on his tail, wondering what the fricking he just got us into
Sam was not usually a fast runner, he ran quite slow at the mile and preferred to walk anywhere, even if it caused him to be late to class. So when he took off at the speed of light, I was quite shocked. He ran as far as his legs would go, which was one of the nearest bus stops. I ran as fast as I could to catch up to him, but I arrived about a minute later.
“I had no idea you could run that fast dude!” I said sitting down on the same bench he was. He looked around nervously.
“I told you! I for some reason have these, explody big boom powers!” Sam yelled putting his hands in his pockets. The sun began to set as the final bus came to pick us up.
“Where are we going?” I asked with a nervous look.
“If I have powers, and I am getting these same feelings from you, we need to leave. We are attracting things that could hurt other people.” Sam said while getting on the bus. I looked at my hands, could I really have powers? I got on the bus and sat in the seat next to Sam. He looked out the window, and I could tell exactly what he was thinking.
“Is it about your mother?” I asked.
“Why would I think about her? She was killed two years ago. I’m not in the mood to discuss her.” Sam said slinking in his seat.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to stir up any memories,” I said cursing at myself. I could be really stupid sometimes, Sam usually makes fun of me. I have never seen him so despondent. Eventually, we both passed out, and all I could dream about was where the bus was taking us.
I had no idea how long we were passed out. In the middle of my very interesting bus dream, I felt like I was thrown out of my own body. When I turned around, I saw myself passed out like my mom after work with Sam looking like he was having a nightmare. I turned around to see that we were the only ones on the bus. I floated to the front of the bus, wondering what the heck was going on until I stopped dead in my tracks. This man had scorpion pincers and medusa snake hair. His eyes were hypnotic and could have made you dizzy in less than two seconds. He turned his head and looked right at me as if he knew exactly where I was.
I woke up and slammed my head against the front of the seat.
“Ouch! What the!” I turned over to Sam who was looking at me weirdly.
“What the? You good?” Sam asked laughing to himself.
“Haha really funny. Dude we got to get out, the bus driver feels weird to me!”
“Yeah, you must have a concussion, that guy couldn’t hurt us!”
“No seriously, we got to go!”
“Alright, alright! Don’t get your pants in a twist!” Sam said getting up. He took a few steps out, asking the bus driver to stop the bus so we could get out. The suspicious bus driver looked at us and watched us get out. Sam hopped out and waited for me. I ran out and looked back at the bus driver. When I turned around to walk with Sam, he lunged at me. He looked exactly like he did in my dreams. I grabbed his pincers as he struck the tail inside the ground. He continued to try to snap me as U held his pincers up in the air. My heart began to beat heavily as he began to speak in the same language as the crazy old lady. My arms were getting tired and I was about to submit, but Sam slammed him into the bus. The sparks slammed against the engine and exploded. The bus was thrown thirty feet away, making a shockwave strong enough to shove us to the floor. We looked in awe as the bus kept burning.
“Oh my god!” I said looking at Sam.
“I, I didn’t mean to blow up a bus!” Sam said in a shocked voice.
“That was amazing! You are lucky!”
“This is scary. I never asked for this,” Sam said, his hands shaking. “I really don’t like this. Let’s go.” Sam said hurrying down the road. I turned to follow when I saw him fall down to the ground. I was about to walk over when my vision blurred. I collapsed to the ground and all I could see was someone picking us up.
