As we enter the elevator Alec presses the button to take us up 3 more floors, to the 8th floor.

I don't know if it's the alcohol talking but I'm starting to feel a bit light headed. It might also be because this elevator feels slower than usual.

I must've done something weird because Mayze is asking me.

"You okay Rayla?"

I nod, with a curt smile, continuing to sway a bit.

The doors open and we get out.

"Okay what percentage of alcohol was in those drinks?" I question, feeling my cheeks go a little numb.

"Let's just say... A lot." Alec tells me while still looking at Mayze.

I walk 5 steps ahead of them to let them have a bit of privacy. The last thing I want is to be in between people flirting.

Suddenly a group of tall, handsome men exit a room and are walking towards us. One of them is wearing sunglasses.

Hehehe does he think he's a celebrity or something? Why wear them inside. Well, besides that this is the first time I see a group of handsome men walking towards me...All looking at me......

..... Wait?

Most of them chuckle, and I cover my mouth realizing that I might've said some of it out loud. I've never felt more embarrassed in my life. All of them walk past me, but the one with the shades stops very stiffly right in front of me.

They all glance from him to me, even Alec does.

"Am I thinking out loud again?" I ask feeling more embarrassed.

"What did I say this time? Was it about the sunglasses indoors? Or about the sunglasses at night?....Sorry." I feel my face get hot and I run my fingers through my hair, moving all of it away from my face.

Nobody moves still, I turn to Mayze.

"We're not going in then?" I giggle, "I'm gonna go home then....I'll race you!"

I start jogging for the elevator and press the button, and they're still staring at me. I'm starting to think there was something extra in those drinks.

"Whaaaat?..Oh! I know, the stairs are fair game. Okay." I turn back around and jog towards the stairs. Right when I open the door someone closes it.

"That's cheating." I complain trying to remove the large hand from the door nob. "You know, cheating means..." I turn around looking up at him, "I win."

I don't know when me and glasses got so close. But I can smell his wonderful scent, and if I reach out juuust a little I can touch his-

"Why are you touching me?" His deep voice filled with disgust asks.

Aaaaaaaaaand he's a jerk. I shake of the tingles I felt in my hand and my resting face comes out instantly. "Sorry. I just thought I must be drunk or something. There's no way someone would leave this body, filled with no heart and soul here." It must be the alcohol because I am never this bold.

I can feel the mans burning eyes through the sunglasses. I start to feel uncomfortable and I hear people getting off of the elevator.

"Hold it!" I yell, dashing towards it. "Text me Mayze!" I tell her before the doors shut.

Adrian

"It's good to have you all in the annual Alpha meeting. Alpha Rian really missed out today on some of the things we discussed." Derik tells everybody with a goofy grin on his face.

Most of us are friends here, but this is strictly for business, he doesn't have to be so informal. I think to my wolf, feeling his irritation grow as well.

"Since when is Rian on time?" Reddy laughs, placing his cup of beer down.

I place my fingers on the bridge of my nose as my annoyance grows.

"I do have something to ask Alpha Adrian." Flin says, quieting the room.

This should be good. My wolf, Van tells me licking his lips in a menacing way.

"We need to talk about the southern territory expanding. It-"

I slam my hands on the table, but speak very calmly and firmly.

"We will not be discussing anything. You know how I feel about the southern territory, this is not what the meeting is about."

"Don't spoil the mood Flin." Zack comments, trying to lighten the mood.

"How about we head out, and get some fresh air?" Derik chimes in.

Everyone agrees and we head out of the room.

We need to leave faster, Van urges me.

"Has anyone seen Alec?" Reddy asks with a smirk on his face.

"No, but knowing he's been gone this long, and hasn't said anything to us yet. It's got to be good." Zach says chuckling and loosening his neck tie.

That's when a strong scent of strawberries hit me like a truck.

Mate. My wolf howls, dancing in circles.

We all step into the hallway, and see Alec walking with a women. The other one walks awkwardly in front of them.

We all instantly knew the woman in the green is Alec's mate. I smell mine, but why don't I see her? I ask my wolf, slowly looking around. 

"This is the fist time I seent a group of handsome men walking towardz me...." The woman in the boxy black dress and dirty white sneakers tilts her head while squinting obviously confused, "All looking at me....Waiiit-"

I feel unwanted sparks shoot through my body. Her? I ask my wolf feeling a lot of unwanted emotions surge through me.

Our mate! Our mate! Our mate! Our mate! Van dances.

You have got to be kidding me. I'm too upset to focus on what's happening next. I can smell the alcohol off of her and automatically become disinterested.

She's acting so childish when she's drunk. It's annoying.

She runs to the elevator and my wolf doesn't want her to go. I can feel myself staring, and everyone else follows suit.

"Whaaat?..Oh I know! The stairs are fair game." Her sweet yet husky voice says, I watch as she rushes over to the door.

I really don't know what's wrong with me, but before I know what I'm doing I stop her.

When she touches me, I feel like I just want to give in and forget how I feel. But instead I say,

"Why are you touching me?"

It came out much more rougher than I intended.

When she removed her hand, my wolf was whimpering for her to place it back.

"Sorry. I just think I must be drink or something. Therez no way someone would leave this body, filled with no heart and soul here."

I feel a burning pain in my body, but I don't care at all. She can do or say whatever she wants, because I do not want to be hers. 

Van whimpers as she leaves in the elevator.
