Lisa let a soft groan escape her lips as her arm came flying out of her blanket, slamming over her black alarm clock to get it to stop. She turned to lie on her side, her hazel eyes finding their way to the little gadget standing on her bedside table.
7:15 A.M, the flickering digits said.
It was morning again.
Sometimes, she'd feel stupid for still keeping the same alarm every day. After all, it didn't matter anymore what time she wake up. She had a job that allowed her to stay at home and avoid meeting people in person, only requiring her to proofread and submit her work online.
Whenever she needed to, she could order for food and other necessities with just a click. Lisa would always make sure first that the delivery guy had left already, before she open her door and quickly reach out for her grocery bags.
She even finished her schooling and got her certifications online. Everything she needed, she could get in the comfort of her own home-just the way she wanted it.
How long has it been? Six? Ah, no. It's been seven years since she last step foot outside her door. And every day, her alarm clock would start beeping at exactly 7:15 in the morning, just like how her mom used to set it before when she was younger.
It was stupid.
But she had to do it.
She had to have something to remind her that she was still alive.
The girl slowly sat up, sighing as she moved to put on her slippers. Then she trudged towards her bedroom door, not bothering to look at the mirror hanging on her wall.
Why did it matter? She wasn't ever going outside anyway.
The sound of her footsteps reverberated as she ambled through the living room, momentarily stopping to turn on the light switch, intent to head to her kitchen to make herself some breakfast.
She felt specially lethargic today, empty even.
Usually, hearing her alarm blast in the morning gave her some type of comfort, because it lets her know that it was morning again, that she was able to live through another day.
And by keeping her alarm clock, she could pretend that nothing had changed, that her mom was there to wake her up in the morning like before when she was still alive.
When her family was still alive.
But today, hearing her alarm just made her realize how miserable her existence was.
She wished she didn't wake up at all.
Lisa sadly smiled to herself.
She should have died with--
The girl's rambling thoughts came to a stop as she noticed something right beside her front door.
It was a piece of paper that looked as if somebody slipped through the gap under the door.
What..?
Her heart began thudding.
Who could have possibly done that?
With trepidation, she moved to pick up the paper, her hands slightly shaking as she read what was written on it, and blinking in surprise when she was able to process what it said.
"Hello. I'm Yoongi. Your new neighbor."
