 Ella's pov

Ella knew that her curiosities were dangerous the moment she let them be known to her prince. When she said she wanted to see the lost Kingdom, he had simply shaken her off, telling her to stop worrying about silly folktales on a castle that doesn't exist. She knew it did. Her parents, before they died and forced her to live with her stepmother and stepsisters, had told her of the mysterious disappearance of Kingdom Arias off the map. They had called it a ghost Kingdom, since no one has heard a single breath from any citizen or noble of that descent. She was told of the magic that was held in the kingdom, from creatures to humans who found spell books.

She had begun to daydream when she heard a knock at the door. It was one of her servants, or rather, her best friend who walked in once she gave permission.

"Aliya, what are you doing here?" Ella asked.

"I'm here to let you know that the prince would like to dine with you, Ella."

"It's that time already?" Ella checked her clock. "Well I'll be damned, it is. Thanks Aliya, you're the best." She ran out in her evening gown, almost tripping, and walked the rest of the way to the table, just to be safe from any more stumbling incidents.

"You seem very excited Ella," Henry said. "What's gotten you so happy?"

"Well I've been thinking, wouldn't it be great if we traveled a bit, went outside of our Kingdom's walls?"

"Not this again, Ella, you need to understand that this isn't something you can easily get to, it's days, even weeks away from this kingdom, don't risk yourself for something that isn't even guaranteed."

"See I know that, but what if it is there, what if all my answers are right there in Arias and I'm just waiting here like a sitting duck and I-"

"Ella! Enough! I'm not dealing with your little fantasies again, give it up!"

"...I'm sorry Henry, I don't feel like I belong just here, I want to find myself in something other than this kingdom and you! I love you, but I need you to let me do this."

Henry sighed. "I'm sorry Love, but I can't let you go out there alone, where it's dangerous and unpredictable."

"Then I won't go alone, I can bring someone with-"

"No! Ella, that is enough! We're done with this conversation."

"But-"

"Go!"

Ella got up, holding tears back, and rushed to the door, slamming it on her way out.

"Stupid prince, stupid dinner, stupid life!" She yelled to no one in particular. "I just want to explore the world and escape this place for once. She paused. Escape. Of course! She laughed. "Alright Henry, if you don't want to let me do this, I'll do it
myself." She went to her room, a newfound determination in her eyes as she gathered everything together.

This was her calling, and by God was she going to follow it.

Hey all! This is my first book, so bear with me if the chapters seem a little unreadable and short. I thought I would make this story my first actual long story, I'll probably update at least once a week, maybe twice if I'm feeling it, since ideas can pop into my head at any moment. This idea came to me as soon as I woke up lmao, so expect real updates.

Thanks!
Dreamer.
