*~*~*~*

Angel Dust sat, his cheek resting on a gloved hand, at the hotel's bar. Husk stood pressed to the wall, behind the bar, as far away from Angel as possible. He kept his eyes fixed on the wall, occasionally taking a sip from the bottle he was holding, not even wanting to make eye contact with him. Angel, overwhelmed with boredom, had given in to his lack of entertainment and was searching that same wall for whatever was so much more interesting than him. Charlie and Vaggie were helping as much as Niffty would let them in renovating the rooms on the first floor, and Alastor was God knows where.

None of them had expected anyone else to walk in, especially since the disastrous interview and the shocking amount of mockery thrown on the Happy Hotel's name. Hardly a demon dared to walk by the hotel for fear of being spotted and ridiculed for the rest of their existence.
But they did.
Hesitantly, but they did.

One of the tall front doors opened a crack, the outside light spilling onto the threadbare carpet. At first, the squeak of its rusty hinges was taken for one of the wearing floorboards groaning under one of the others' feet as they moved around upstairs, and ignored. The newcomer poked their head around the door, then slowly pushed it open so they could just slip through. Angel was the first to look up, being unoccupied by alcohol. The door closed with a faint clang behind them. They stood awkwardly in the hall for a few moments, uncomfortable under Angel's surprised stare. Only then did Husk look up and see them, muttering: "oh. Welcome to the Happy Hotel, how can I help you, or whatever..."
"Um, well... I'm looking to get a room here..."
Husk snorted.
"Really? Wow. You must have some guts, considering the absolute state of that interview. Literally nobody has already booked a room here before apart from Angel, so..." He turns to Angel, who had been checking the new demon out. "Go get Charlie."
Angel jumped.
"What? Aw, c'mon, can't you do that? You're the receptionist. I'm just staying here as a guest—"
"I seemed to be under the impression that you couldn't keep clean for more than two weeks, and so lost the free room. Go get Charlie." Angel groaned and dropped down from the stool, heading for the stairs.

*~*~*~*
*Second person*
Angel descended the last few steps, Charlie following at his heels— nearly stepping on them in her excitement. She pushed past him and sprinted towards the new demon, instantly beginning to chatter animatedly with them.

When she had (after a painfully long wait,) finished, dashed back upstairs to spread the news and prepare a room properly, Angel sauntered casually to where you were standing, holding out one of his top set of hands. "Angel Dust. You?"
You took the hand without second thought and replied: "(y/n)."
"Neat. I suppose you've heard of me~?" He leaned over so his face, speckled with pink, was inches from yours.
You had, in fact, heard of Angel— not just from the news, after the turf war, but because of his... career. "Yeah. Who hasn't, at this point?"
"I figured as much~!" Angel straightened up proudly, puffing out his fluffy chest and running his fingers through his white hair. "I'm glad you're here. I'm bored with everyone else. They're no damn fun! Plus, you look cute. I could have some fun with you!" Your face warmed with flattery.
"...Thank you... no-one's really ever—"
"Which is why I'm goin' to reward you five minutes with Fat Nuggets!" ((A/N: Yes I had writer's block— ;w;)) You stared at Angel blankly. "Oh c'mon, you know— my pet! My lil' Nug Nugs..?" You blinked. Angel folded his second set of arms underneath his chest fluff and glared indifferently at you. "'Yes Angel, I know you! Who doesn't?'" He attempted to mimic your voice, planting his knuckles oh his hips. "Psh. Yeah, right. Well, might as well show you him so you can actually get to know me." You opened their mouth to respond, but before any sound could come out, Angel grabbed your arm and yanked you along, heading for the stairs.
*~*~*~*

You had to jog to keep up with Angel's enthusiastic, long-legged strides. His hand was still wrapped tightly around your wrist. He stopped abruptly outside one of the many almost identical doors. Drawing a key from his pocket, he gripped the handle with thin fingers then slipped the key into the lock. The moment it turned, he burst into the room so suddenly the sea of aesthetic lights and vibrant pink burned your retinas, leaving you to try and force your eyelids to stay open. Angel Dust, however, seemed unfazed, and began rummaging through a pile of light pink clothing, muttering, "Nugs! Nugs!" as he did so. You stepped through the door, closing it slowly behind you (not without hoping your eyes weren't scarred by the intense colour). You hesitantly walked over to where Angel was crouched. When Angel had said 'pet', you had expected a dog, or maybe a hamster or rabbit, if it was small enough to hide in a pile of clothes. The least you had expected was Angel, after exclaiming "found you!" turning around with a pig in his spindly arms. "This," Angel stated, holding the pig out, "is Fat Nuggets." You stood, eyes wide for a few moments before replying.
"Ah. It's a... pig." You weren't entirely sure if you liked pigs or not.
"Of course it's a pig! Aren't 'cha, Fats?" Fat Nuggets snorted and pressed his soft snout to Angel's cheek. Angel carried the animal to his bed and sat down cross-legged, gesturing for you to take a seat next to him. As you did, Angel put his arm behind you and pushed you into him from the shoulder furthest away from him. You didn't have time to protest as Angel swiftly shoved Fat Nuggets against your cheek, followed by his face. "Adorable lil' thing, ain't he?" He moved away slightly to hold the pig out, offering it to you. You took it, placing it in your lap— instantly overcome by sudden affection for the thing when it circled, then dropped into a lying position on your legs, still sprawled from the sideways fall, nuzzling into them. Fat Nuggets grunted a few times as you moved your legs into a more comfortable position. You allowed it to sink deeper into your lap. "He likes ya, see?" Angel's voice was hushed, vibrating next to your ear. You laid back, relaxing now, finding your head resting against Angel Dust's chest fluff. His body was warm, his fur velvety. Angel's arms made their way around your waist, hands clasping together in your lap with Fat Nuggets. You found it strangely comforting. A few minutes passed before Angel's head came to rest on your own, his gentle breath ruffling your hair. All tension and energy in the atmosphere was gone, replaced now by drowsy contentment. Fat Nuggets lifted its head, reaching his neck slowly outwards for Angel's hand. Angel stroked the pig's head with surprising gentleness, movements relaxed and unrushed. You closed your eyes, relaxing your neck so that the curve of Angel's chest fit perfectly behind it. Your head was upturned, so Angel's chin now rested on your forehead, warm breath brushing your cheek, cushiony, baby pink bedsheets gathered in a loose circle around you like you were two birds in a nest. A second pair of arms now snaked around your body as Angel gave you a gentle squeeze. Your own hands came to rest on his arms, savouring his warmth. A smile curled the edges of your lips as you laid there, eyes closed, enjoying your time with Angel Dust.
Angel Dust.
The 'adult film' star.
This reminder brought you back to your senses, the spell all of a sudden broken. "Ah, I'd better go back down... Charlie might think I've run off already..."
"Oh, yeah... well, see ya around, maybe? This was fun."
"Yeah, I'll catch you around." You stood, Fat Nuggets rolling off your lap and onto the bed. Angel pushed himself off the springy mattress and followed you to the door.
"See ya, toots." He leaned forwards, giving you a confident peck on the lips. You nodded, less awkwardly than you had first anticipated.
"Mhm." And the door closed, the air around you no longer drowsy, nor content. It was dusty and smelled of wet wood. You sighed and turned away, grudgingly heading for the stairs.
