(Warning: gets kinda weird)
(P.S Not sexually)

You were roused from a dreamless, gentle sleep by a sharp rapping on the door to your hotel room. You groaned quietly as the sound pried your heavy eyelids open. Your hotel room was a dark burgundy with slightly lighter stripes, with a similarly coloured, carpet-coated floor— old-fashioned. Not that you minded. You knew the hotel had yet to be redecorated. Your bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it worked. You sat up slowly, using one arm to support you, then called, "yuh-hmm?", not awake enough to bother speaking properly. Charlie's chirpy voice— how the hell, this early in the morning, you thought— answered. "Do you happen to know where Alastor is?" (A/N: lMao he's still missing from Angel's fluff— he been abducted or something—) You and Alastor had been good friends for a while; this was mostly why you had decided to come to the hotel in the first place.
"No..? Why?"
"I can't find him"
You rolled your eyes. "Well, obviously, but—" you broke off, realising Charlie's footsteps were echoing further down the hall and she was no longer listening. Sighing, you supposed you should get out of bed and do something, considering the conversation had woken you up (frustrating as that was). You swung your legs over the side of the bed, ignoring the cold that began gnawing them, and crouched down to rummage through your suitcase for some clothes.
~~~
You ambled down the street, eyes roaming indifferently, surveying your surroundings. You weren't quite sure where you were going, just that you were going somewhere. Hands in your pockets, you narrowed your eyes at a demon hollering across the road—
You couldn't scream before a gloved hand covered your mouth, and another wrapped around your body, dragging you into the gloom of an ominous-looking alleyway.
~~~

When the journey ended, the hands moved away, and you whirled around, hyperventilating, ready you throw a few punches before you were grabbed by the shoulders, your vision suddenly filling with the image of wide eyes, glowing in the dark, and an even wider, yellow-tinted grin—
Oh.
You burst out laughing, then raised your hands to shove Alastor back against the grimy wall marking the end of the alley. One corner of his mouth was now raised slightly more than the other in a mischievous smirk. You raised your eyebrows, putting your hands back in your pockets and relaxing your shoulders. "Thought you could scare me, huh?"
"I did, though, didn't I?" Alastor leaned over so his face was level with yours. You snorted.
"As if. If you had, I would've punched you already." Neither were true, and you tried to hide that by attempting to seem haughty, smug, as if you had achieved anything other than a minor panic attack. Alastor, clearly, saw though the act and laughed, hooking his arm around yours and beginning to lead you away, but said nothing more. You suddenly frowned and said, "Charlie was looking for you. What were you doing?" then, looking up at his face to search fruitlessly for any signs of tiredness, "and what were you doing up so early?"
"Well, darling, that's a story for another time." He turned his own head to look at you, and your eyes met. His wild expression softened, the light radiating dimly from his eyes, a warm shade of crimson, fading in the growing light. You lifted your hand until it was able to meet Alastor's own, which was balled in a loose fist, and curled your fingers around it. The material was warm with the heat of his body. You turned your face away from him and leaned your head against his chest, as a sudden burst of rich affection for the deer demon washed over you. You walked like that for a while, and you began to vaguely acknowledge the feeling of Alastor's fingers interlocking with yours, the squawk of the doors leading into the hotel, then, shortly after, Alastor's hair brushing against your head then the warmth of his body against your back.
~~~
You woke with a start, lightheaded and confused. You relaxed as you recognised the entrance hall of the Happy Hotel, then frowned when you realised whatever you were lying on was lumpy. After a few moments, you were able to work out that this was where the gold-rimmed, cushiony sofa would be. Eventually deciding you should probably check what was beneath you, you sat up and looked over your shoulder. Alastor had lain sprawled on the sofa beneath you. You suddenly felt the chilled air hitting your back and relaxed into him again, welcoming the cosy feeling. It was odd, you reflected, that Alastor had not pushed you away from him when you had touched him earlier, based on his preferences, but you shrugged it off and closed your eyes again, savouring the peace, the unusual quiet— save for the sound of Alastor's relaxed heartbeat, drumming softly in your ears, his warm breath caressing one cheek.
