SHAYLEES POV
i laid on my bed and scrolled through my phone, hoping something would entertain me.
every night is just boring for me.
my only friend is jack, and i just have no interest to go to any parties and socialize.
unexpectedly i get a message from an unknown number.
unknown number:
i'm sorry.
me:
who is this?
unknown number:
come outside
me:
what?
i hear several knocks coming
from the front door downstairs, causing me to jump off bed and walk to the door.
i open the front door, revealing the boy who bumped into me in the halls.
"look, i just wanted to apologize for being a dick and-"
"how did you even find my number? or my house?" i cut him off.
"jack" he says plainly.
he looks down to his hands, and starts messing with the sleeve of his hoodie.
he looks so broken.
"come in" i open the front door wider, so he could walk in.
"you're shaylee right?" he asks, while admiring the pictures on my walls.
the dim lights from my house shine on the sides of his cheek, defining his cheek bones.
"and you're-"
"ethan." he says plainly, looking down at me.
his eyes glisten a mix of green and brown, as he looks at me.
i look away, trying to hide my blush.
i hear him laugh, as he continues walking down my hallway, admiring my house.
"a big place you got here" he comments with a slight chuckle looking through the doors as he walks into the living room.
"well i guess that's what you could call it" i found it all so strange. i just let a boy who doesn't even know me, nor do i know him, inside my house.
god my parents would kill me.
"still, really sorry. i'm usually not that much of a dick-"
"so you're saying you are a dick, just slightly."
"kinda like that yeah."
it was an awkward silence for a brief moment.
"well i guess i should get going. i sneaked out and if my moms finds out she's gonna kill me." he says, as he begins walking towards me.
"i guess you should" i mutter, backing up a bit.
as i said that he smiled lightly at me.
"see ya shay"
shay. nobody has ever given me a nickname before.
