Dear Diary,
There was a strike today. A teacher's strike. So no one went to school. I can't say I'm not happy about that though. So today was just another day spent in my room. I was watching Doctor Who on Netflix for a good 4 hours. But then, I stopped. I decided I wanted to know what was in the "gift". So I walked up to it, grabbed it, and sat back down on my bed. My hand trembled as I reached for the red ribbon rapped around the black wrapping paper. As I pulled it off, my heart pounded. As I wearily opened the package, I saw a piece of paper. Once the ribbon was off, the paper removed, I took the off white lid off the beige box. Inside, a pice of paper that said "congratulations! You've been chosen for the mad hatter project!" With a pendant necklace attached. The pendant was a hat. A shiny, navy blue hat with a black band near the bottom, and a silver lilac sticking out. The string was just a black strip of fake leather. Nothing special. I threw the note out, but the necklace, I put that on. It's nice. I like it. Although now I'm tired. So I'm gonna go take a nap.
