*am now changing point of view to paloma*
Waking up eceryday to the traffic noise of nairobi city isnt fun at all.
I yawned dramatically and looked at my wall watch, it was five oclock in the morning, i had to read for my cat. as a student taking surgery as a course it was tiresome.
I, Paloma Rays had studied at Our Lady Of Peace high school in Nandi hills and i was proud of myself with the score. I scored an A plain in all my subjects, thats how a i was able to join The University Of Nairobi and had a scolarship.
Raised in a family of three, me and my sisters had a very close relationship together. My mother always taught us to allow love to unite us and as sisters, we were always there for each other.
My mother couldnt afford to rent me a house outside campus, so i took the hostels. It was always noisy, the tin walls couldnt give one a peace of silence to read a book.
Music, fights, parties, group discussions all happened within the thin walls of Maasai block, the hostel that i was staying.
The shower was cold, i couldnt feel my hands. they felt like i dipped them in ice, i was shaking due to cold. my shaky fingures flipped the pages of my book as i tried to concentrate on the topic that out lecture had said he will give a CAT on.
I was so concentrated that when my alarm went off, i jumped and fell down from my seat, my bum was on fire🙈.....it was so embarasing although know one saw me falling like the clumsy girl i was.
I took my pencil porch and locked my door before walking down the corrido and out into the August cold. alittle drizzel fell from the sky, i was not a fun of rain at all.
My green seat was cold. i wished i couldnt have taken the cold shower at all. It was hard for my hands to write well because of the numbness............
Everyone wqs streching and smilling because we were now going for a long holiday and this meant no school fir the next three months. But to me i knew this was foing to be hard.
I had to help my mother collect some cash for my sisters schoolfee and rent and food. i had a job at Shimoni bar in Westlands. It was quite a big bar. mostly tourists went there because its service was better than the others in Nairobi.
How i managed to get that job is onlyGod. my mother once lived near the owner that was when we were still young and i cant remember them well.
My mother gave him a call and boom i was given the job cleaning guest rooms during holidays. the pay was good, it allowed my mum to rest alittle. i just knew tge the job will pay for the three month ren, food and my sisters school fee.**********************************
