First Day Hiccups

Nadine's POV

I patted my straightened hair down making sure no hairs were sticking up. I made sure to get out all of the wrinkles in my uniform, I could feel the butterflies in my stomach fluttering about.

I grabbed my backpack before heading out. Ina had already left so I would be facing my morning class alone unfortunately. I made sure to grab the map and my schedule, I then made a quick stop at the cafeteria to grab a blueberry muffin.

First class on the agenda was English which I was grateful for. This afternoon we would be having an assembly. I made my way towards the elevators, I was still too tired to take the stairs.

I stopped on the third floor trying to find room 315. After a while of walking I still hadn't found the classroom. Growing frustrated I stuffed my mouth with the last of the blueberry muffin. I probably had all types of crumbs stuck to my face.

Oh well a girl's gotta eat

After fifteen minutes of aimlessly walking every which way I stopped in front of the correct classroom. I walkthrough thanking my lucky stars that the teacher wasn't there yet.

The room was very spacious, I decided to sit in the middle so I wasn't too far back nor too upfront. Everyone sat with there group of friends talking and laughing, I couldn't help but wish Ina was in this class.

Just then a platinum blonde girl came through the door. She had nice cheekbones, and a french manicure. Her hair was pulled back in a neat ponytail not a hair was out of place. She smiled at a group of girls who immediately gave up a seat for her to sit down.

Rolling my eyes I pulled out my things I would need for class. I doodled in the back of my notebook as I waited for the teacher to arrive. A brunette haired girl with glasses sat down next to me. She was short and offered me a friendly smile.

"H-hi"

Turning my head I faced the petite girl who reminded me of a baby panda. "Uh hello" I say feeling akward.

"My n-name is R-rosie, what's y-your n-name" she stuttered over her words nervously.

"I'm Nadine, it's nice to meet you Rosie". I send her a gentle smile before turning back in my seat. She was a nice girl but I had no clue how she would survive this school.

The teacher arrived and the hour long class began.

"That my friend would be Bianca Simmons, her dad is the chairman of this school" Ina says chomping on a celery stick. We sat at a table in the middle of the cafeteria.

"Why is she treated like some queen or something. I swear it's like in one snap she can make those girls around her do anything for her" I joke.

My eyes shifted towards the table with the cheekbones platinum girl from my morning class. "Nadine I'm only telling you this because I care but... try and stay away from her.... she is nothing but trouble".

I see the worry in her eyes so I nod. "Well thanks for the heads up" I say going back to eating my slice of pizza. We continue talking when the cafeteria erupts in gasps.

The elite boys come walking through. I wasn't going to lie about them not being good looking but relationships for me were a done deal. I needed to focus on improving my skills instead of a bunch of royals who reeked of riches.

"It's like each year they get hotter and hotter" Ina squeals. I roll my eyes and go back to eating my food. A certain dark haired boy stops at our table causing the whole girl population to gasp in surprise.

"How's it going trip head" he says with a giant smirk.

I roll my eyes in annoyance meeting his playful green eyes. "What do you want" I snap.

"If I told you what I want would you let me have it" he teased with a wink. I motion my hands as if I am about to throw up.

"Get lost you arrogant piece of crap" I sneer turning my head to look at a starstuck Ina.

"Alright, fine I'm going I just wanted to tell you I think you look cute in your uniform".

I feel my face turn hotter in embarrassment. With one last chuckle he finally walks away from the table. "Wow your already being chased by a royal tell me how do you do it" Ina asks her eyes going wide.

I groan feeling the heated gaze from every girl in the room.

ATTENTION EVERYONE

Today we celebrate the first official day of classes. Here are Clear Lake Academy we strive to give you the best education there is possible to succeed in the real world. We want to take this opportunity to say how excited we are for a new year and new beginnings.

Now many of you know the guidelines of the school. If not you can find them on our official school website where it is listed for you. I want each and everyone of you to do your best academically.

Clear Lake Academy is known for it's competitiveness. We want all of you to succeed in the best way that you can. That being said inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated here. If so please note the consequences will be detrimental.

With that being said we hope all of you represent Clear Lake Academy in the best way.
