THE NEXT DAY:

EXT. SAI'S HANGOUT – NIGHT

Esmeralda walks the streets starving and filthy. She keeps wishing death would take her. She stumbles and falls, luckily a muscular man nearby caught her. He looks like a street thug but Esmeralda didn't care.

SAI

Hey, are you okay?

She forces herself to look up to his face once more before she collapses. Sai is now afraid, so as not to be accused of anything, he carries Esmeralda home.

CUTS TO:

INT. SAI'S HOUSE – NIGHT

He rushes in and gently lays her on his sofa. Shocks, Sai's best friend quickly grab a cup of water which was used in reviving her. Three young boys run downstairs to see what the commotion was about. Esmeralda is surprised but happy to see her long lost brothers; Kendrick, Karlah and Krest.

ESMERALDA

(Weak) You are here all this time? I've missed you.

Her brothers run to her and give her a tight hug. The four are filled with joy. She's given food to regain her strength. Esmeralda is very observant of her environment. Though Sai is nice to her and her brothers, he looks rough and has a red viper tattoo. He is also missing an eye and wears an eye patch now. She suspects that Sai might belong to a gang and might have gotten her brothers to join as well.

KENDRICK

It's so good to have you back. I've prayed that you'd return.

ESMERALDA

I guess God listened.

She goes with them to their rooms and as Kendrick took off his shirt to take a bath, Esmeralda sees the same red viper tattoo she saw on Sai. She is shocked and scared. Her brothers have a habit of getting into dangerous things that might harm them. She pretends like she saw nothing.

A YEAR LATER:

EXT. NOAH'S HOUSE – DAY

Noah now has a new house which he bought with the money left by the anonymous man that he invested. Bernard is healthy and fine now but the relationship between the two brothers has crumbled. Bernard loved Esmeralda like a mother and when he found out that Noah told her to leave he has held a grudge against him ever since. Noah is sitting outside as Bernard slowly walks to him.

BERNARD

Are you alright Noah?

NOAH

Yes, just enjoying the fresh air.

BERNARD

You're a bad liar, you've always been. You miss her don't you?

NOAH

(Sighs) Huh! Every day! (Crying)

BERNARD

You brought it on yourself. What made you think that if she left that I would survive? She had just started opening up to you.

NOAH

I wasn't thinking straight, I didn't mean for her to go.

BERNARD

What you meant for to happen doesn't matter, what actually happened does. I won't forgive you for this, you didn't think about how I would react or where she'll go.

NOAH

What do you suggest I do?!

BERNARD

Get of your butt and go look for her (Storms off)
