~Living with Jack and Jack isn’t that bad. I met great people through them. An example would be my best friend. His name is Sam and I have known him almost my entire life. He’s exactly 1 year older than me because he’s Jack’s age. I’ll be turning 18 and Sam will be turning 19 soon. To make it even more special, we share the same birthday. Cool right? Yeah. I think I’m leaving out a bid detail. Oh yeah. I’m kinda in love with my best friend. It’s terrible but it just seems perfect to love him. He’s the sweetest thing in the world. One thing standing in my way is his girlfriend, Miranda. That girl makes me so mad. I used to spend every single free moment with Sam until she came along. She threatened to break up with him if he didn’t stop hanging out with me and talking to me. They’ve been dating for a few months and he hasn’t said a word to me except for an occasional ‘hi’ in the hallways at school or when he’s here with the boys. It’s sad to love him but I just can’t help it. ~
“Abby, what do you want for your birthday?” Gilinsky asked me as he walked into my room.
“Anything really.”
“I’m serious. What do you really want?”
“You wouldn’t be able to get me what I really want.” I sighed.
“And what would that be?”
“My best friend back.”
“Ouch. Hurtful.” He said sadly.
“I mean I want Sam to start talking to me again.”
“He’s still with Miranda isn’t he?”
“Yeah. Sadly.” I grabbed my baseball and threw it up in the air, catching it every time it came back to me. By now, I had been joined on my bed by Gilinsky.
“I love you Abby but you need to stop moping around about Sam. There are so many other guys out there that would love to be friends with you. I’m just one of the lucky few that are graced with your presence everyday” he smiled.
“Thanks Jack. You’re the best. But Sam’s different. There’s just-“
“You love him. Yeah I know.”
“How?”
“Well for one, it’s obvious. Two, you talk about him a lot. Three, you won’t get over him and the fact that he’s not talking to you. And four, I read your diary.”
“Jack Finnegan Gilinsky, you read my diary?!?!?!?” I yelled at him.
“You’re the one who asked me to clean your room for you. It fell down and I went to pick it up. I noticed my name in it so I had to read it. I’m sorry. Maybe you shouldn’t talk to it about how you dream about me every night.” He winked. I slapped him and blushed.
“It wasn’t something I thought you’d read.” I turned on my side and faced him. He copied my actions.
“Well I read it.” He smiled. “Now, the feelings you have for me in your dreams, are they real or not?” he smirked.
“They could be. But even if they were, the feelings I have for Sam will always win over the ones for you. And besides, you’re my brother’s best friend. That’s the biggest problem.”
“Who cares? I’m sure Jack would approve of us. We’re his two favorite people.”
“Look Jack, I’m not going to say anything because I need to sort things out. Right now, my feelings are all over the freaking place. I’m sorry.”
“No. It’s okay. I understand.”
“Okay good. I love you.” I smiled at him.
“I love you too kiddo.” He smirked and leaned down to kiss my nose. I shriveled it up.
