The Promise

Everything is dark. Yukiko can't see and feel anything. She knows that her eyes are open, however, she can only see dark. She tries to move her hand but it's failed, she cannot feel anything. Yukiko let a self-sigh, tries to think about her situation now.

"What happened just now? I saw the green light and suddenly I cannot move at all. I don't even know if I breathing right now. Did it only happen to me? Is everyone experience the same thing? Did I... Die?"

Yukiko just stares the darkness and lets out a laugh. Well, in her mind of course.

"I can't believe that I can just die this easily. Well, this kind of deads it's not worse at all. I don't even feel pain. What a nice way to end it. Finally, I can just rest from this boring life."

Yukiko closes her eyes and continues her laughing. After she satisfied with her laugh, she keeps her smile and tries to remember about her life, which makes her think of a certain green onion head.

"Oh right, before this happened I tried to protect Senku. Is he okay? Or he has the same fate as me? The same fate, huh... That's mean, Senku is dead too. Senku... What an unfortunate end for you. Someone who has a beautiful life and big dream has to end it in such way. Irony isn't?"

Senku's arrogant face pop up in her mind makes her want to punch his face but of course, she can't do it right now. Well, after all, she already dead.

"Anyway... Am I really dead? It means I will go either to heaven or hell. After that, I will be reincarnated. Wow, what will I become? Human? Animal? Or even a plant?"

Yukiko can feel a tear form in her eyes. She lets out a dry laugh.

"Why it feels hurt? I should be happy about it. After all, this what I really want from the start. I want to end my life. Then, why I regret it now!?"

Yukiko wants to scream out of her lung but there is nothing that she can do. She just let her tears roll down to her cheek.

Then suddenly, Yukiko remembers something. A statement that left by someone. The statement that changed her life.

"What a boring way to live. You're interesting. How about joins me? You can be useful. Ten billion percent I can change your boring life with sciences! This exhilarating!"

Yukiko let out chuckles.

"Damn you, green onion."

She closes her eyes again to remember the moment.

Middle school//Rooftop

"Yu-chan! You sure not coming to us?" asks one of the girls.

"Yeah, I want to stay here," the girl with mess caramel long hair answers.

"Okay, don't regret it okay! We going to find boys!" the other says and giggles with her friends.

"Yeah, yeah. Just go before the boys are gone," Yukiko says and waves her hand not bothering to look at them anymore.

After saying another bye, the group of girls left Yukiko. Yukiko just sighs and pulls out a box of cigarettes from her pocket. She put it on her mouth before light it matches. Takes a breath of it before huff it out, let out the smoke that comes out from her mouth.

"Finally, some time alone for me," Yukiko says as she sits down and looking the sky. "The sky is clear like always. It's nice if I can become a cloud."

Yukiko staring the sky with a little smile on her face. Sometimes let out a giggle when finds some funny shape of clouds.

After 30 minutes, she already finishes her cigarettes. Throw it on the ground before step on it to remove the last smoke. She looks at the sky the last time before deciding to sleep because she getting bored. After all, it's still the time of the afternoon class. She can go home when the bell's school rang.
