—CARSON GOT READY IN A FIGHTING STANCE. Even though he was for sure it was his second mate, he didn't want to take any chances.Carson stood at his full height in front of his pups who seem to just be bickering about each other, about being older, completely unaware of the situation.
At last, his mate came into his vision. His mate was in wolf form. His fur was a light brown and he was up to Matthew's stomach. Slightly taller than Carson's dog form. His eyes were light brown.
The newcomer sniffed the air. Smelling a new and captivating scent. It wasn't his mate. His mate had a very different smell than this one. Then he remembered Matthew's words form the mind-link earlier:
"We have a second mate."
Carson tensed when the wolf's head snapped to him. Carson lifted his top lip and showed his sharp canines as a warning. The newcomer wolf tilted his head slightly, trying to convince the dog, his second mate, in front of him he's not a threat.
"Carson, please don't attack him. He is your second mate. Dante. Dante, this is Carson. Our second mate." Matthew introduces. Carson backed off a little, but didn't back down completely.
Just because they were his mates doesn't mean they won't hurt him or his pups. He had to be careful.
As if Dante heard the words "his pups" in Carson's mind his head looked down at them. Who were still oblivious to the situation.
Dante's eyes went blank and so did Matthew's. They were mind-linking. Carson broke the barrier between the two and flinched. He gotta get used to that.
"Pups?" Dante growled. Carson's eyes narrowed.
"Does he have a problem?" Cayden sneered.
Apparently, Carson broke the barrier with his powers but he didn't mute himself. So they can hear him or his other sides speak.
'Cayden you, idiot!' Camron snapped.
Dante snapped back from the mind link and narrowed his eyes, looking around the clearing. Trying to figure out who said that.
"It was me you ding dong! Do you have something against my pups?!" Cayden snapped through the link. Dante quickly looked at Carson. Matthew grinned at Carson. He knew it was Cayden since he had talked to him before, so he knew his voice.
Carson huffed. "Idiot." He mumbled to Cayden. Cayden rolled his eyes and Camron laughed.
Dante inched over to Carson when he wasn't paying attention and leaped on him. Carson having quick reflexes turned and clamped his teeth around the wolf's neck, catching him before he leaned on him. Not too hard but not light so the wolf can escape easily.
Dante was shocked but also proud.
Dante used his paw to nudge Carson's snout. Urging Carson to let him go. The fur tickling his nose made him sneeze, releasing Dante in the process.
Carson whimpers. He didn't mean to. It was just a reflex. Carson lowered his ears on his head. Dante heard the whimper and locked eyes with his mate.
"It's okay." Dante said in his mind. He knows Carson is still connected to their link.
"Pups move back please." Carson linked to them. They moved back and Carson followed their steps. He was tired. It was nightfall and the usage of his powers slowly drained his energy. But he wasn't going to sleep until he for sure knew that they wouldn't hurt him or his pups.
