They finished eating in relative silence and when the feast was over, the Slytherin trio lead the way to the dungeons.

Once they got there, Professor Snape called everyone to attention. "Students, because we had a new sorting, the headmaster saw it prudent to resort the dorms. There will be three students to a dorm, your names will be on the doors."

Harry locked eyes with the Professor and saw something he'd never seen before in him, he saw care. He silently asked Harry if he would be okay and Harry nodded. He gave him a quick smirk and left, his robes billowing behind him.

"What was that?" Pansy asked.

"I'm not sure, though it's nothing you should concern yourself with Pansy dear."

"You... just called me Pansy dear."

"I'm sorry, is there something else you'd like me to address you as?" He asked.

"Ah, no thanks, you just surprised me... you do realize we're enemies right?" Pansy questioned, "that we've been fighting since the first year when you turned down Draco's friendship? That we've dueled and insulted each other? Why are you being so friendly?"

Harry sighed. "Pansy we're here for the eighth year. Because we missed our seventh year because of war. We, teenagers, fought in a goddamn war and I died. I realized a lot of things then and one of them was that I don't have time for petty rivalries. I never hated any of you, at least, not really. I would have never wished death on any of you. And you are good enough and I am good enough and we're all on the same side so why must we fight? I... I don't have the energy to fight anymore Pansy. For all my talk, I'm just a broken, haunted boy, with no purpose. I wasn't supposed to live Pansy, what am I supposed to do now?"

And at that moment, Harry looked so defeated, so broken, that Pansy teared up. She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him, whispering of sweet nothing and reassurances in his ear.

Draco and Blaise came back from finding their dorm and looked on in shock. When she finally noticed their presence, Pansy drew away from Harry and wiped her tears. "Are you okay?" She asked Harry, ignoring her two friends astonished faces.

"No," he said wearily. "But when am I ever?"

"Harry, would you like to start over? Hello, my name is Pansy Parkinson, what's yours?"

"Harry. Harry Potter." He smiled at her and shook her hand.

"What is going on Pansy? Why are you shaking hands with Potter?" Draco asked, more than a little miffed.

"He's my friend now, so you better be nice to him," Pansy said.

"What?"

"You heard me. I have to find my dorm now but I'll see you guys tomorrow." She then turned and walked up to the girl's dorms.

Harry cleared his throat, "Sorry about that, did you two happen to see where I was supposed to go?"

"You're rooming with us actually," Blaise conceded after a second's hesitation.

"Really? Cool, now I don't have to meet too many more people, how about we go to the dorm."

"Alright."

Once they had entered the dorm, Harry curled up on his bed. "Harry?" Blaise called, uncertainty seeping into his voice.

"Yes?"

"Are you... alright?" Pansy wasn't exactly the most physical person, she rarely even hugged Blaise and Draco.

"Yeah, what did you do to get Pansy to give you a hug?" Draco demanded.
