Chapter 16

Becky's POV

Today was my birthday, I can't believe I'm turning 29. I'm getting old! But I still love my birthday nonetheless.

Unfortunately, this year it would be a lonesome birthday. Maybe I could call up some old friends but I wasn't on great terms with Seth and I didn't want to make any of my other friends catch a flight just to be here for a day. As I laid awake I heard a knock on my door. I groaned as I got up thinking of who it might be.

To my surprise I saw Seth with Emmery on his hip and a cake balanced in his hands.

"Surprise!" He said cautious of my possible negative reaction. However, I simply just rose an eyebrow.

"Oh come on, I wasn't going to let you spend your birthday alone. What kind of best friend would I be?" He said coaxing me.

I smiled softly "mm, you don't want me to answer that."

"Okay, fair point, but you only turn 29 once and maybe not everything is not perfect between us right now but can we let everything go for tonight? It's your birthday after all and you deserve a day all about you" he said.

"Alright, come on in but it's a bit early for cake no? I haven't even eaten breakfast" I said caving. Seth smiled, "then let's go out for breakfast, my treat. We can go to Toast!"

I gasped, "I love Toast! I haven't been there in so long. But let me get dressed first." Seth nodded, "we'll wait here."

With that I took a quick shower and put on a cute outfit, I'm sure I'd change later anyways. After that we headed to Toast.

We had a great time at brunch and honestly I was a little sad we would be parting ways. Until Seth spoke up, "okay I have one more surprise." I looked at him intrigued. "It's at your place" he informed me. "Oh okay" I said confused.

We drove back to my apartment and Seth made me close my eyes as we walked in. He finally dropped his hands and I saw my three best friends in front of me. I felt tears well up on my eyes as I was attacked with hug.

I wiped the tears away as we separated. "What are you guys doing here!!" I said shocked in the best way possible.

"Well we couldn't let our bestie spend her birthday alone could we?" Charlotte said lovingly.

"Plus Seth flew us out" Bayley added and I smiled at her as it was the response I was looking for.

"And no was not an option for him" Sasha added with a teasing smile.

We turned to look at him with flushed cheeks and laughed. We caught up for several hours and cut the cake until it was around 7 pm Bayley spoke up.

"Alright Becks, there's one more surprise. Charlotte and Sasha are going to help you get ready because that isn't really my thing but you have to promise to enjoy your night, okay?"

"Okay?" I said unsure because I had no clue what she was talking about.
"You're going out with Seth on a nice dinner, kid free. Us three blind mice will take care of Emmery for the night so you both can catch a break" Bayley said.

Without the chance to protest they swept me into my room and dolled me up from head to toe.

"Do I look alright?" I asked Seth as he just stared at me making me feel slightly insecure.

"You look amazing Rebecca" he said and I could hear the honesty in his voice. "Thanks, now should we get going?" I asked. "Yeah. Of course, let's go" he said leading me out.
