On days like these I sleep
When the sky is no longer blue
And the grass is no longer green
On days like these I sleep
When the trees no longer stand tall
And the water is no longer clear
On days like these I sleep
When all I see is grey
And the fruit has lost its flavor
On days like these I sleep
I close my eyes in hope to see color
I close my eyes in hope to taste new
On days like these I sleep
I sleep to see if my troubles are gone
I sleep to see if my pain is relieved
On days like these I sleep
In hope that a light will save me
A God will grab me
On days like this I sleep
But my past won't change
My mind won't change
On days like this I sleep
Because I can only run
I can only hide
On days like these I sleep
I can only do so much
But when it catches me
On days like these I sleep
