Bakugo opened his eyes to a blindingly white ceiling. Squinting he tried to sit up and hissed in pain as his hands tried to support his weight.
Looking down at his hands he saw the two rings of bruises going around his wrists.
Had.... Had that not been a dream? Kirishima! Jumping out the bed he started to run to find his redheaded idiot, only to fall when pain shot up his legs.
Bakugo let out a small grunt as the pain slowly faded away. With as much strength as he could muster he dragged himself back onto the bed, wincing when his weight was put onto his legs.
Sitting up against the head rest he looked around till he spotted a clock on the far wall.
'5:31'
Bakugo had to do a double take to make sure he hadn't read that wrong. What happened to the entire first half of the day!?
He heard the door slide open and Kirishima's irritated voice filled the room.
"Yes I know I left without permission but no-one else was going to do anything!" It said angrily. Before Bakugo could wonder who he was talking to he heard Aizawa respond.
"I understand that Kirishima, but it's still against the rules." The voice answered in its usual tired tone.
"So you would have left Bakugo to lay on the floor like that?" Kirishima shot back, his voice filled with the same amount of rage Bakugo usually had.
He heard Aizawa sigh as he probably thought about his response carefully.
"No Kirishima, I'm saying you should have waited for my permission." Kirishima scoffed at the absurdity at this.
"You were stood still like a statue, and honestly that's pretty unprofessional for a hero like yourself." A smile played at Bakugo's lips as he heard this comeback. Kirishima really knew how to hurt people when he was mad.
Aizawa let off another sigh and he heard the door open before slamming shut as someone left. Crossing his fingers Bakugo prayed it was the teacher.
Thankfully Kirishima came round the corner and sat himself into the small plastic chair beside Bakugo. His face still scrunched up into a look of pure rage.
"Careful Kiri, you'll get wrinkles." Bakugo said, looking at the now shocked Kirishima. Immediately the redhead jumped forward and pulled Bakugo into a slightly too tight hug.
They sat there, Kirishima clinging to Bakugo while he simply stared blankly out the window behind him. After a few minutes Bakugo let off a small cough.
"You going to let go? You're kinda crushing me." Kirishima muttered a quick apology and backed off back into his plastic seat, looking up at Bakugo with his big puppy eyes. Bakugo knew what he was going to ask and despite not wanting to tell him, damnit those eyes.
"What happened Katt?" He asked, his ruby red eyes searching his face for any reaction. Bakugo grimaced at the question and turned away, not wanting to answer.
Kirishima's warm hand was instantly on his own, rubbing soothingly against his palm and Bakugo could feel his resolve crumbling.
He turned back to look at Kirishima to was still looking at him expectantly. Bakugo let out a sigh and his free hand gripped the bedsheet tightly, he enjoyed the pain his wrist gave him.
"I just didn't sleep very well is all." He finally managed to choke out, cursing himself for saying such an obvious lie. He felt Kirishima's hand falter a little before it continued again.
"If that's all, would it be better if we slept separately, would that help?" His voice sounded cheerful but Bakugo could tell he felt hurt.
He gripped Kirishima's hand tightly and shook his head, he wanted anything but that. Kirishima smiled with relief, he didn't want that either but if it had helped he would have to grow up and let Bakugo do his own thing.
