Blonde beauty on the side is Jeremiah.

Chapter 5

“… And that’s why I need you, Jeremiah.” I finished, looking at their astounded faces. All three of them were staring at me like I had gone mad. My brother had his mouth wide open, showcasing all the cereal. Jeremiah hadn’t even begun to eat yet, the cereal had turned soggy in his bowl. And Abby, well, her face was different. She had the normal essence of shock, but there’s was something else there as well. Disbelief? Awe? Both? It marred her features and she shook her head.

“I’m sorry,” She paused, “WHAT?” She shouted, jumping up. “You want me to try and make Harry jealous? Using him?” She pointed to the blonde guy who she almost killed yesterday. This provoked him, making him jump up as well.

You want me to pretend to like her?” He asked, making Abby turn sharply to look at his eyes.

“What’s wrong with liking me?” She asked, perturbed, making me look at her personality change in wonder; from livid to anxious in a second. Jeremiah looked bewildered as well, making him take too long to answer.

“There’s nothing wrong in liking you, Abby.” My brother said, standing up and hitting Jeremiah behind his head. “If Jeremiah doesn’t want to collaborate with the plan, I’d love to fill his place.” I stared at my sibling. That’s how he’s going to calm her down? My eyes sneaked a peak at Abby, whose jaw dropped open.

“Wha –who –I, just, ARGH!” Her words came out in a jumble and she turned a slight pink.

“No, Ax, it’s got to be Jeremiah.” I spoke, making everyone look at me again. “No one at our school knows you, but they know him. We have one more week of school left, in which Jeremiah will be there. You will not. We need this to work at school as well.”

“Ellie, we’ll talk more about this later. I’m tired.” Abby yawned, putting her cereal bowl by the sink. Sighing, I followed her out of the kitchen and back to my room, leaving the boys to converse.

Abby fell asleep almost instantly, and I set an alarm and quickly joined up on the bed. We’re going to the mall at three o’clock, if she agrees, and then, Phase One of Get Revenge shall begin! I felt my eyelids get droopy and heavy, falling shut so fast that I could hardly even say I was awake in a few seconds. It felt like mere minutes had gone by before the infernal sound of a beeping alarm woke me up from the lovely rest.

“Ellie, make it shut up!” Abby shouted, pushing her head underneath my pillow. I groaned, sitting up groggily.

“Let’s get out of bed.”I muttered, falling out of bed and onto my knees, making a muffled ‘doof’ sound. I crawled to Abby’s side and switched the alarm off, pulling her hand so she slid half off the bed.

“Are you going to go with the plan?” I asked, tugging her arm repeatedly for her to wake up.

“The what? Oh, that.” She whined, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. “I guess so.”

“Great,” I smiled, walking up to ‘the Closet’ and opening it with a flourish. “Normally, I wouldn’t willingly go to this cupboard, but you’ll have to look even more gorgeous than normal, which will be very hard.” Abby walked over to my mirror table and looked at her cosmetics.

“We’re going to the mall where Harry and Hella always chill right?” She asked, using an alcohol wipe to clear her face before putting on foundation.

I hummed a yes and pulled out her favourite pair of blue jean shorts and a faded American flag print crop top. Throwing it behind me and onto the floor somewhere, I pulled out some high heel, nude coloured shoes that tied up in the front.

“You’re going to look fabulous!” I sang, standing behind her in the mirror and placing my hands on her shoulders. She smiled weakly and I could tell that Harry still hurt her badly.

I walked over to my book cupboard where my IPod stereo was sitting on top and played my playlist called ‘Dancing in the Nuddy’. It’s what I always listen to when I’m in my room. The familiar guitar intro of ‘Dirty Little Secret’ by All American Rejects started playing, and I looked in my normal cupboard for something to wear. I took out my sweatpants and a ‘Rolling Stones’ tee shirt and put them on my bed.

“I’m gonna shower, Abs.” I announced, walking into my bathroom and closing the door.

As I stripped down, I thought of Abby’s hurt face and how I really hate Hella right now. But what if it wasn’t Hella that initiated the kiss? My subconscious whispered, feeling worried. I scoffed, climbing into the bathtub and turning on the knob so the shower head blasted me with ice cold water before turning warm in seconds.  Hella always starts everything. I reasoned, but I knew I was just trying to convince myself. Harry wouldn’t do that to Abby, would he?

He is the school’s hottest dude; co-captain of our basketball, rugby and football teams; dated many women in his lifetime in high school that lasted only day, most two weeks; but he knows Abby has been … in love with him even before he became popular. He wouldn’t do that.

Then my mind turned to Adrien as I rinsed my hair of the shampoo and rubbed in conditioner. Who is he? Why haven’t I seen him before? My mind ran over his image; high cheeks bones, beautiful chocolate brown eyes, tousled hair, and his blushing face when he saw me. I have so many questions about him and no answers. I grumbled as I got out and dried myself before walking out to find Abby crying silently and hysterically.

“Abby?” I asked, running over to her and hugging her. I was still in a towel, but I don’t really care right now. She comes before anything, my best friend.

“How can I do it?” She asked, looking at me and gripping my shoulder. “I can’t make him jealous. Especially not with Jeremiah. I like him too much, Elaine, I like him too much.”

“You can do it. And as soon as he sees what he’s missing, you can stop. All of us in this house will help you with anything, even Jeremiah. He acts like an arrogant jerk sometimes, but he cares about you.” I whispered, pushing her hair out of her face. “And, to be honest, I think just showing up at the mall with Jeremiah will make Harry jealous, and you’re wearing your favourite shorts.” I reasoned, making her laugh a little.

“Alright,” she said, tying her hair up and out of her face. “I’ll have to do this.” Her attitude changed quickly like it always did. She was so unpredictable, but that’s why we’re friends. “I can’t let Hella push anyone around, Hella or Tony.”

I smiled, happy that Abby is my best friend.

Dedicated to NileStix For coming up with Tony. Tony will be in the next chapter, as well as other two chica's that I have yet in mention. xx
